Grandfather Tales based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
Collected in Apalachia in th 1940s, these tales are an important part of our culture, and a link to stories all over. Folk tales have common threads all over the world and they connect us to each other. "Like Meat Loves Salt" is the folk tale version of King Lear. Stories circulate up and down the literary world, expressing the teller's view of our common stories. I bought the book for my nieces and nephews, but I'll have to buy another, because my 94 year old mother isn't giving up the copy she started browsing through when I opened the box.
If you liked the Jack Tales, you will love this.
