This is the second novel in the series. I thought the first novel was darker in some ways. However, some will disagree with me. The story involves Harry learning about the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts and about a monster that lives within the chambers. I think this is one of the better books in the series.

This book gives you a glimpse into the wizard world and takes you out of the muggle world. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was a very enjoyable book. This is the second book in the Harry Potter series, and in my opinion a very well-written book. After a stressful time spent with the Dursley family, Harry can't wait to go back to Hogwarts. However, he does not know that as he returns to Hogwarts, something else will too. Harry soon discovers the Chamber of Secrets. The author, J.K. Rowling, writes in a way that the audience can interact with the book and feel as if they are one of the characters. This book follows Harry into his second year at Hogwarts and follows the plot of the first book. However, this time, Harry's challenge is facing the Chamber of Secrets. The book overall was very interesting and I did not want to put the book down while I was reading it. Throughout the book, the audience comes in contact with many different themes. Types of book that can portray a message and continue to tell the story tend to capture the attention of whoever is reading the book. Some of the themes taught with this book are loyalty, courage, and the power of truth. As the reader follows Harry and his friends throughout their adventures, these lessons are taught while progressing the story along very smoothly. Overall, this was a very enjoyable book to read. It created the feeling of suspense and other emotional aspects. I highly recommend this book for an entertainment read.

After reading the first book of the HARRY POTTER series I wanted to learn more about Hogwarts, the creatures and the wizard world. This book really opened my eyes to all three areas. I loved Harry, Ron & Hermione as well as Ginny, Fred, George and Mrs. Weasley. I especially loved Fawkes the Phoenix. I’m also learning a little bit more about Voldemort (who I’m not fond of as well as Draco, his Dad & Professor Lockhart). This book made me laugh and cheer.
