I bought this because I thought it would be like another cookbook that I love called Simple Healthy and Delicious by Chef Jai. Instead, I found myself challenged by some of the recipes. Peas with burrata and a fantastic blend of arugula, mint, and parsley? I was looking for simple recipes. If you tried anything out of Simple Healthy and Delicious, like the roasted chicken, forbidden rice or the pound cake French toast, by now you would understand what I mean by simple, but I also want rich flavors like the recipe in Simple, Healthy and Delicious has. Instead, I found a book like Nothing Fancy that I can impress my friends with some of the dishes at a dinner party, but not every day. I have only tried to make a few things like the chicken and the caramelized onions and dates. I will try it again without the dates! I will keep the book and see how good it gets. It is interesting, just too many spicy recipes and too much salt in a dessert section.
