U.S. Navy Alphabet Book based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
This is not so much an "A is for apple, ant, aardvark" book as a book for children about the Navy organized alphabetically. It is not particularly suitible for learning the alphabet. It does have the alphabet in Maritime Flags, Semaphore, and the phoenetica alphabet. The pictures are nice, though some are obviously altered. The blurb for each letter is informative enough for older kids (8-10) while simple enough for younger kids (4-5).
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the Navy? If you have, you should read The U.S Navy at War by Melissa Abramovitz .This book was interesting to read. The story was great, but some of the pictures were too violent. In the beginning the author talks about older wars like the Civil war. In the middle of the book, there was violence in the war. The ending was very interesting because the Navy was losing but then the Navy got more back-up and they defeated the other country. In the book, some of the Navy people died and lived. The people who lived were great fighters and the people who died were brave man. I recommend this book for boys. Girls might not like it because they might be scared. I think second and third graders will be interested in this book. I give this book four stars! Even though the pictures were violent, it taught me a lot and you should read it too!
