A Greater Than Napoleon

A Greater Than Napoleon

Audio Other(Other - Unabridged, 7 Cassettes)

Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus, a Roman general who lived in the 2nd century B.C., defeated Hannibal in the Punic Wars. In the Second Punic War, Scipio conquered Spain and ended the war by beating Hannibal in Africa. He returned home in triumph and was named Africanus after the country he conquered.

In his preface, B.H. Liddell Hart states, "The reason for this book is that, apart from the romance of Scipio's personality and his political importance as the founder of Rome's world dominion, his military work has great value...the art of generalship does not age, and it is because Scipio's battles are rich in stratagems and ruses that his story provides an unfailing object lesson even today."
