About the Author

Chi Emerole is the youngest of six children born to two Nigerian teachers in a small village she and her siblings fondly called "Ogele City." She came to the United States at the age of 19. She is a pediatrician and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She is passionate about poetry, creative writing, travelling and improving the lives of children. Emerole and her family currently live in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Illustrator, Ryan Durney is an award-winning, full-time freelance illustrator focusing on children's books, fantasy, and sci-fi as well as prehistoric subjects. He enjoys working with large publishers or independent authors, alike. He uses mixed-media with digital paint to create a unique look. One review described his work as "pearlescent." Ryan's artwork is cutting edge yet has the patina of antique illustration or classic picture books. He has won several awards for his work, including many international competitions such as Best of Fantasy, and Society of Illustrators West #45, as well as a Mom's Choice Award in 2011. All-in-all, though, he counts being voted in by the kids for a Children's Choice Award as his favorite recognition.
