About the Author
Dr. Burton retired as a chair of teacher education and a professor at New York Institute of Technology. She received two Fulbright Senior Scholar Awards to assist universities in South Africa and Iceland. She is a former teacher and school district administrator. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating opportunities for all students to obtain academic success.
Dr. Patricia Ann Marcellino is a Professor Emeritus and a former Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education at Adelphi University in Garden City, Long Island, New York. She also served as an Assistant Dean at Adelphi's Schools of Business. She has experience in the career areas of Business and Education, and as an urban New York City, and suburban public school social-studies teacher. Dr. Marcellino is also the author of academic publications and book chapters in national and international venues. Her academic publications have focused on leadership, team-building, career development, and the diversity of learning when implementing Learning Pattern Theory and the Let Me Learn Process developed by Dr. Christine Johnston. Dr. Marcellino is not only the co-author of A Story of Courage: Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, she is also the author of a second e-book entitled, I Don't Want To Be A Leader: Or Do I? Don't Want To Be A Leader: Or Do I? is an e-book about a girl hesitating to run for President of her class because of the negativity she observes in the media regarding presidential elections, and the leaders who run for political office.
