My daughter already had the book from her piano teacher and ordering the CD alone is a pain to track down, so I opted for ordering another book WITH the CD. Yes, I thought I was getting the book along with the CD from AUTHORIZED sellers under the Barnes and Nobles name. NOT. I only received the book. Immediately I wanted to send this back to the sender and leave feedback for "Booksbylab", but for some reason I am not able to leave a comment for my seller and I am not even sure if I can send the book back! In addition, standard shipping means just that....14 BUSINESS days!! Ridiculous! BUYER BEWARE! The only reason I am giving them two stars is because it is a nice looking book, but NO CD!

I have used this book with several adults students and they really enjoy it. I tell them they are going to play both Beethoven and Elvis before their first lesson is over! The book comes either with or without cd. I have never used the cd, so I can't speak about its value. I highly recommend you use the Theory book along with the lesson book. You can tailor lessons to each student's interests by supplementing with Alfred's books of pop tunes, hymns, all-time favorites, etc. I aslo like using the adult duet book. They can use it after just a few lessons, and it gives them a real feeling of accomplishment to play the duets.

I am in my early 50's and always wanted to play the Piano. So I bought a key board and my instructor got me this book. I have enjoyed the book so much along with the Theory book. When I started 6 months ago. I only knew what the keys were on the right hand. Now I'm playing both hands and actually reading the Theory and music and am enjoying it. Great Book. I recomend it to everyone. Can't hardly wait to get into lesson book 2. There is a lot of practied needed. But you'll love the end!

Studying the piano is not the easiest thing to undertake. This is basically a good piano book to learn from and assist with that process. There are some great songs in this book to learn and enjoy. Some parts of the book are a little hard to follow than others. One should have an instructor or a tutor when using this book. Don¿t expect to learn everything there is just from one reading or practice because it¿s a continuous process. With an instructor or a tutor, this book is well worth the time and effort.

I am an older adult finally fulfilling a lifelong dream to learn to play the piano. This book is used by my music teacher and each page is more fun than the one before. No boring repetitious exercises and you'll learn to play familiar songs from the beginning. I also find the book easy to use as a reference to reinforce previous lessons.

Having played the violin through high school, I have always wanted to learn piano. I found this much easier and simpler to learn than many of the other beginner instruction books I looked at.
