Once upon a time, Fred, a small guinea pig, was living in a pen with hundreds of other guinea pigs. But the little guinea pigs didn't know they were being fattened up so that they could be eaten.
However, Fred was smart. He did not eat as much as the others. So, when it came time for the local residents to pick which guinea pig to eat, Fred was never picked because he was not the fattest one. They always picked the fattest guinea pig.
One day, Fred got tired of living his life in a cage. So that night, he attempted to sneak out of the pen while everyone was sleeping. On that very same night, however, two guinea pigs, Myndi and her little sister Cyndi, were awake. They squeaked, "We want to go too!"
"No," Fred whispered. "You will only slow me down." But he had no choice; after all, they were only children.
"Puh-lese," whined Cyndi.
"We'll keep up, I promise," Myndi added.
"Fine," Fred agreed, "but only if you ride on my back."
"Ugh, fine," Myndi grumbled.
Cyndi, on the other hand, squealed, "Great!"
Before Fred could shush her, Charlotte and her little twin brothers, William and Frank, were wide awake. "We want to go too," they mumbled in their babyish tones.
"Move aside, twerps," Charlotte announced. "If you go, then I go. I am not going to be stuck here the whole time with nobody to boss around," Charlotte added with her front paws on the twins' heads.
"I like the way you think," Fred said in a scary voice. "Alright," Once everyone was outside the pen, he announced, "This is what we are going to do. Cyndi and Myndi are going to ride on my back. Charlotte, you carry William and Frank."
"Yes, sir, Mr. Fred, sir."
Charlotte squeaked in a sarcastic voice, "Ha ha, hee hee. Tweedle dee dum."
Fred then mocked her for being sarcastic. Twitching his head back and forth, he spoke, "Fine, every one heard what I said, right?"
"Right!" squealed Cyndi, Myndi, William, and Frank in voices that sounded as though they had just learned how to speak. The babies hopped on the backs of the adults and off they went.
