Anne of Green Gables is one of the most amazing novels ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a must-have! Its about an eleven year old girl, Anne Shirley, who is accidentally adopted by Matthew and Marrila Cuthbert, who were expecting a boy but got Anne instead. It is mostly from Marilla's point of view, so it shows how odd Anne is to outsiders. But as the tale progresses, Anne's feelings become more dominant so you can see both how she feels and how others feel. Anne loves to daydream romances and fantasies, often naming ordinary but beautiful places romantic things. For example, to the other residents of Avonlea, the pond owned by Mr.Barry is Barry's pond. To Anne and her friends, it is the Lake of Shining Waters. Anne gets into all sorts of shenanigans in her new home, learning valuable lessons about daydreaming, vanity, and friendship. This series will touch your heart, escpecially as in the following books, the red-haired freckle-faced girl matures into a beautiful young woman, eventually marrying and having her own child, Rilla of Ingleside.
