I loved this book! Good story, action ROMANCE! Tessa is a great heroine, smart, sassy, and holds her own even when she's in over her head. The werewolves, especially Dastien the love interest, are SEXY! And, there's a lot of humor. The author has created a fun world to hang out in. Can't wait for the sequel!

It's lively, fast pace and full of variety. I had a great time!
Visions, telepathy, spells, werewolves, vampires, fighting scenes and a beautiful love story ... Wow! I really enjoyed myself!
A perfect novel to promote on Halloween day, since the author uses many supernatural elements to populate her narrative. And even if there are werewolves and vampires, it has nothing to do with "Twilight". Maybe a little with the atmosphere of Alyxandra Harvey in her academy for Hunters in "The Drake Chronicles."
The plot is well done. It won me over from the start and push me to turn the pages because I wanted to know how Tessa going to get bitten and become a wolf. This is perhaps the most frustrating part because the bite comes to worst moments ... When the reader begins to melt for the hero!
I liked the main and secondary characters. They are funny, touching in their overreaction are fun and sweet.
Imogen is an exceptional pest.
The male are always in competition to mark their territories and Tessa is a young woman as I like them. A festy, hot tempered heroin who will let no one step on her toes and who dare defend her ideas, beliefs.
As for the plot, it is original in the way the author presents and enliven it by varying the romantic aspect, the fighting scenes and twists.
Frankly, it's been awhile since I had so much fun. The characters are worth the read, the plot makes you want to turn the pages. It's lively, fast pace and full of variety.
I had a great time!

Loved this book! Got hooked on the first one, and ended up preordering both 2 and 3. It was a really good read, fun and quick (hard not to be when you just get sucked in). I even reread this one before the 2nd came out... and may or may not be planning on doing same before the 3rd.
I was a little weary since a lot of books like this are high school age (Im not.... Think young at heart but my license says otherwise) but it was actually a lot better than I expected. The main characters just hook you, and the connection between Tessa and Dastien …. Well, yea. I have reread the book a couple times and plan on it again.
The world the author created is a lot of fun to hang out in!

Tessa's life sucked. Sure, her father's job brought famous heartthrob actors through their door, she had great parents, an adored brother, the great house...and, oh yeah, the visions. Turns out that wearing gloves all the time to protect yourself from the touch and the resultant revelation of others' thoughts didn't win you any fashion-forward awards. All it got you was the label of freak. So when Tessa's father accepts a job at a school in Texas, Tessa doesn't have any emotional ties to severe in L. A. But she does have an unusual vision of a super hot guy, but this time something's different - because he sees her, too.
When super hot guy turns up as a graduate and instructor at the private school which now employs her father, she wonders why everyone warns her away from its students...why SH Guy starts turning up everywhere she goes...and why, the first time she accepts a party invitation from a new classmate, a kiss turns into a horrifying and life altering event.
I just happened across this as an inexpensive NOOK Daily Find and bought it because of the werewolf thing, but ended up really enjoying it. And I only have to wait until May for book 2, Avoiding Alpha!

From the get-go I loved Tessa as a character. She is strong willed and assertive - not like so many of the heroines I’ve read that are the ‘sweet and innocent’ types who usually get by just by being unrealistically perfect. Tessa is real, and her relationship with Sebastian (though fictional) is so reciprocal and full of emotions it makes me almost jealous. The book has a certain real-ness to it that makes it easy to slip into, the dialogue isn’t stunted or mechanical, and the events flow naturally.

This is by far my favorite book. My mom said that I should read it, so I gave it a try. I finished it that night. It’s so good! Keep making great books!!

This book made me feel lots of things: anger, amusement, jealousy, and joy.
The parts I loved reading the most were when I felt a little hesitant to read the next line because I knew what was going to happen next. I felt like I was actually living in the story and it made think ten times better.
This is hands down my new favorite book series.

This novel was simply phenomenal! The author did an excellent job in creating an intriguing story with many twists and turns that always kept me interested in the novel and the story line. I also appreciated the high school aspect in the novel, but also loved how it seemed to be in the backdrop of the story. In addition, the character development was amazing. Tessa's spunk and fire gave something unique to the novel that I enjoyed. Moreover, I found her character incredibly easy to relate to and easy to get into the head of. However, Dastien and the other characters also were well developed and I could love them easily as well. My favorite part of the novel was the overall story though. I could not get enough of the romance but felt as though it went at a reasonable pace for the story, and loved the suspense. Overall, this novel is an astonishing story I would recommend to anyone.

I don't usually read the book synopsis or reviews before I read a book but for some reason, I did with this one. I noticed there were an equal number of 5 star and 2 star reviews so I was intrigued. After reading it, I have to laugh at the 2 star reviews. If you are reading a story about witchcraft, vampires, werewolves, and a 17 year old girl that can receive visions, it might be a tad silly. You may want to consider reading nonfiction if that stuff bothers you.
Personally, I think I will like this entire series. It is more enjoyable than Twilight since I never cared for mopey Bella and Tessa is a much more likable lead character. The pacing of the story is pretty good since Tessa has a lot to come to grips with over short period of time. There is just enough action and romance to keep me interested in reading more.
As for things I didn't like, some of Tessa's thoughts about Dastien are really corny ie: Holy hotness, Batman. Someone call the fire department. This guy was out of control. And there's an automatic one star deduction for the use of the word amazeballs in a any novel. Period.
While I made the comparison myself, I didn't care for the direct mentions of Twilight series and Rob Pattinson in the book. If it had been swoon worthy, sexy beast Jacob, I may have forgiven this. Okay, I digressed there for a moment.
Up next in the series is Avoiding Alpha, I look forward to learning more about Tessa's family ties to witchcraft, her new best friend Meredith -- I sense there is more to her story, and her relationship with Dastien Laurent.
Favorite Quote: Bookstores were my kind of place. All those shiny books, lightly touched by only a couple of people. Each one held a different world, a different life to disappear into. - Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin has all the elements for a great young adult story, danger, betrayal, supernatural creatures of all kinds, romance, confusion, a fight to the death, and I’d follow her flip flopping footsteps all day long.
