Here at last is award-winning mystery author Brendan DuBois' second novel in his Lewis Cole mystery series, BLACK TIDE.

The sequel to DEAD SAND has Lewis Cole looking into the mystery surrounding an oil spill on the beaches of Tyler, and the headless and handless corpse of a diver, washing ashore in front of his house. Add in a puzzle involving three missing Winslow Homer paintings, and Lewis Cole soon finds himself in the fight of his life.

Also included in this e-book edition is a special Foreward and Afterword, in which the author describes the challenges of writing a sequel, and the fun oddities that arrive while preparing this second novel for e-book publication.

But they may be in for a suprise when they find out what their old crew members have been up to... <br> ("BLACK TIDES" features explicit language and graphic scenes that may be inappropriate for young readers.)

This is the second Lewis Cole mystery. The characters are interesting and varied. The "required" sidekick is an underworld figure. The location is interesting, the writing is wonderful and the descriptions are well done. Set in New Hampshire beach town, the stories (I'm reading through the series and this is the third one I've read) are interesting and varied. My first requirement is always characters who are true to life and interesting. They are people Dubois makes me care about. These are books I will reread.
