Colden "Saint" James, Dusty Owens, and a single night of passion broke poor old Mr. McAllister's fence. Add six years, a troublemaking photo, and there's not a fence in Texas that's gonna be safe.

Dusty Owens always had a certain kind of power over me. I was real close to falling for the girl before I left Odessa. Now, due to a troublemaking photo, I must return to my hometown to protect the one woman I couldn't forget. The woman I always wanted but was too afraid to take. Things have changed though, I'm a different man. Now, when I want something, I got no problem taking it.

When the Saint returned home, me and my wounded heart put up a good fight. But I'll always be that girl forever in love with Colden Saint James.

Will Dusty's fight stay strong or will she find herself submitting to this sexy, tattooed, alpha male's every command?

I give this book, 2.5 stars: what does this mean to me? I feel neutral. A fair read. Take it or leave it. Please be aware this is an Adult Novel. This book, just wasn’t for me. I tried very hard to enjoy it and I admit there were moments that I liked, but I just didn’t find myself lost in the novel. To me, the characters were not real enough, they did not jump off the page at me. Dusty Owens is a girl who fell deeply in love with an older man and had her heart-broken, when he disapeared on her without a single word. Now six years later, Colden Saint James is back in town and Dusty is one confused woman, especially since Colden is no longer the “Saint” of a man he used to be. Can Dusty resist this temptation, does she really want to? Why did Colden disappear and why is he back in town? I guess if you want to find out, you will have to grab this book and add it to your reading Library . While I’m sitting here writing this review and thinking about Broken Fences, one major thing keeps popping in my head and that’s ” Man Parts “. I know, seems odd doesn’t it? But That phrase is used so many times in this book, that it’s all I can think of. Colden and Dusty many times refer to Colden’s “Man parts”, now I can see a woman maybe thinking this in passing but really a man? I’ve never heard a man in my life call his stuff, man parts especially when referring to the hardness of them. It honestly made me giggle when I heard Colden say this phrase, I even read several passages to my husband to see if I was just being to critical, but he agreed with me men just don’t say “man parts”. This is the only book I’ve read of Kelly’s and I’m willing to keep reading her stories, everyone deserves a second chance. I’m not saying don’t read this or that this is the worse book I’ve ever read, Just that it wasn’t for me. So, if you read the description and you think you might like it give it a try!

4.5 Star Review – Broken Fences (A TroubleMaker Novel #1) I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by Kelly. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, pain, and betrayal. Dusty Owens had one night with Colden Saint James after trying to get him for two years. When she gets her chance he takes her virginity, they broke a fence and he left town the next day with no word. He has been gone for 6 years but he’s is due back for his brother’s wedding. Now he is in town and looking better than ever. But since Dusty was told he is married with three kids she should be safe right? Colden Saint James is back in town because his cover is blown and he is sure someone is after Dusty all because he had her picture in his wallet. He must protect her from the trouble he is sure that is coming. He bets her he can beat her at staying on a mechanical bull and since she holds the record and he fell off the last time after only a few seconds she agrees. He beats her and moves into her spare room. Dusty finds out that Colton’s brother made up the story about Colden having a wife and kids she realizes that she is not so safe. He tries to seduce Dusty at every opportunity and is able to. She can’t resist him. He is and has always been her weakness. When an associate of Colton’s shows up Colton ties up the man and takes Dusty prisoner. She tries to get away more than once only for Colton to grab her back. The more time they spend together the more she falls in love with him. After Colton’s boss talks to the associate they are allowed back into town. After dropping Dusty off Colton tells her he will be right back. After waiting for hours she knows he has left town again. Is he gone for good? If he returns will Dusty let him back into her life again? What is his real job? Will he make it to the wedding? Does he even care about Dusty? How will she survive if he is gone?

Holy Hotness Batman! I now need a cold shower! BROKEN FENCES has come to town-er my eReader anyway. I may be late to this rodeo but dang if I didn’t want to ride it for the entire 8! BROKEN FENCES by Kelly Gendron is the first in her series of 5 books known as The Troublemaker Series and that is an excellent name for the hero of this book, Mr. Colden James. In essence, Colden took Dusty’s virginity up against a fence (and broke it, thus the name Broken Fences) then hightailed it out of town for the next 6 years without word one. Dusty was understandable heartbroken, especially when his brother told her Colden was married and had kids. In reality, Colden had been undercover for the FBI but when his cover is probably blown, the first thing he thinks of is protecting those he cares for – His family and Dusty. The rest of the book was what I fell head over heels for. The repartee between Dusty and Colden was witty and smacked of reality. Their interaction was so deliciously entertaining and yet bittersweet at the same time. When they finally started using their mouths for something other than talking, things started to heat up quickly and if I wasn’t already in love with Colden, I was after he said things like, "I'm through giving, pretty girl. Now it's takin' time. But you don't worry. You're gonna like what I plan to take from you. I promise." I do love a man who keeps his word. ::grin:: As I was reading, there were a couple of things that bothered me. Namely they all related to Dusty’s role. She was the one hurt. She was the one kept in the dark and then Colden arrives and he still isn’t honest with her for a long time. He left again but said he’d be right back but she had no real reason to believe him. None of that sat right with me. It made me feel like she was just slightly out of focus. (It probably made her ‘feel’ like she was slightly out of focus too. ;) ) Relationships need to be balanced, even in books for me so this was a plot issue for me. I am a sucker for a love story and I certainly wanted to believe that love could conquer all in BROKEN FENCES. With all the smokin’ hot sex, obviously this book is not for everyone so choose accordingly. If you love your men hard, your women sassy, your sex burnin’ up the pages and everyone driving for that HEA or at least HFN, then is this a fantastic choice of book. Just keep your boots in the stirrups and your butt in the saddle ‘cuz this one makes it all to the buzzer! ****4 Stars**** I received a copy of this book from a tour promoter in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review.

Dusty had her heart broken when she gave her virginity to Colden, the man she fell in love with 8 years ago. It's been 6 years since that night and she has resolved herself that she won't love again since Colden is married now with 3 kids living in Atlanta. Then, for her cousin Sissy's wedding, Colden reappears in her life since Sissy is marrying his brother. As Colden plants himself firmly back in Dusty's life – truths are revealed and what Dusty thought happened 6 years ago might not be the real story. The chemistry between Dusty and Colden is hot and fun all at the same time. I love Dusty's barrel ahead approach to life as she speaks her mind and fights for those she loves. Really enjoyed jumping into their world.

Book Worms gave this book 4.5 stars. This review was left by Melissa a Book Worms Reviewer.  Synopsis Odessa, Texas has proved to be a lonely place especially for Dusty Owens. After only coming to this place to watch out for her beloved cousin, Dusty finds herself in the arms of hotness Colden "Saint" James. Giving into the virtual saint of the county and then being left the next day tends to make a girl a little wary of men. Six years is a long time to be away from the person that means more to you than she thinks, Colden is determined to piece her heart back together. Will Dusty be able to forgive Colden after she finds out why he really left and will the he be able to protect her from that reason? My take... This was a fun start to a series that I will give 4.5 stars too. Colden is also all kinds of hotness that made me want to crawl into the book and lick him. He is very sincere and doesn't treat Dusty with kid gloves because he messed up six years ago. The sex was yummylicous and the connection between them was noticeable. Dusty was a strong women who for obvious reasons is leery to let St. James back in. She wasn't whiney which anyone who has read my reviews before knows I dislike whiney women. I would have like to see the reason he was gone play out just a little bit more. Put more of a drama factor into it. Hence the 4.5 , but over all a great book. This is a new author for me and so far very impressed.

I received a copy to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. Can a broken heart be repaired or will it stay broken forever? It can be repaired but not as easy as a broken fence. Dusty Owens has been in love with Colden Saint James for over six years. But after given him her innocence, he is gone without a word the very next day. So Dusty has lived with a broken heart and the fact that Saint James didn't want or love her. And she has found out that he is now married and has three children. She will never love again and when she does the ones she loves always leaves her. First her parents, then her older brother and Colden six years ago. So why fall in love so that they can leave too. When Colden comes back to town for his brothers wedding, Dusty tries her best to not give in to him but he body overrules her mind. When an intruder is found in her house, Saint James takes Dusty into hiding, she thinks he has kidnapped her. When he tells her the truth, will she believe him? Can she forgive him for leaving six years ago? What happens when he leaves again? Can her heart take another break? This story is funny, heart breaking and loving. This is a first for me by Kelly Gendron and I loved it. Hope you enjoy it too. **Wicked Reads Review Team**

Broken Fences by Kelly Gendron is the first book in her TroubleMaker series. Dusty has moved on past the broken-fence and Colden James and the night she lost her virginity. It was either move on or mope miserably for SIX whole years. Besides, his brother Jimmy said he's married with three kids. Definitely time to move on right? Except when Colden steps back into town and into her bar he walks straight back into her heart. Colden has been working undercover for the FBI for the past six years and made one stupid mistake. He's been carrying around a picture of Dusty this whole time. Now it's missing and his cover might have been blown. He heads back to Odessa and watches over her from the shadows. The bad guys have seen her picture but there's no way they're ever gonna lay a hand on the woman he loves. When Colden finds out his little brothers wedding is just weeks away he emerges from the shadows, now having a legitimate reason to be home after all this time. Now if only he can convince Dusty that she belongs to him, that he's not really married with three kids and that he has always loved only her... A lot of funny, a little action, plenty of heat and voila! You have one great story on your hands. I especially liked how acquiescent Dusty becomes when Colden gets his "Commanding" voice during their intimate moments.
