This book is awful. It's not true to the story at ALL. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Besides, anyone who glorifies the disgusting Buffy/Angel 'romance', loses mega points in my book.

I would not recommend this book to any one who truly cares about 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' The summaries totally contradict multiple interviews by Joss Whedon and the writers of the TV show. I strongly recommend that people buy Keith Topping's book 'Slayer: The Last Days of Sunnydale' instead of this book. It is unbiased and well researched. It is a shame that Paul Ruditis did not take the time to check his facts before this book was published.

Though not perfect--nothing this comprehensive could be--it's a lot of fun, and even when I disagree with the author's conclusions, gives me plenty to think about.

Hopefully within a couple of years there will be a Guide that encompasses all seven seasons and has no bias. The episode summaries were not up to the previous book's standards. I know this is supposed to be 'official' but I think this is a misnomer. There are too many discrepancies when compared to what actually happened in the last four years.

Somthing old: the Guide to the last three season's episodes, done in the same vein (LOL) as the previous Guides Something new: essays by a bunch of Buffy fans from a bunch of different backgrounds, including Super Fan Allie Costa Something missing: the lenghty behind the scenes interviews

This book does not deserve to be called an 'official' guide since the author completely ignored Joss Whedon's views that have been stated in multiple interviews and commentaries. Instead of doing simple research, the author chose to present his own very biased preferences and call them fact. He twists the events that were shown onscreen more than any politian ever could. The book should be titled 'A very biased fairy tale written by people too lazy to do actual research'.

Buffy did NOT say I love you out of pity to Spike! The writer ingores Joss Whedon's commentary on Chosen and First Date when Buffy revealed to Willow that she was in love with Spike. I'm also furious that he ignores the scene of them holding hands and their hands starting to burn. That was the most romantic image in the finale. Watcher's Guide is undermined by Ruditis' blatant bias for Buffy and Angel's long-dead romance.

I am very unhappy with this book and would not recommend any serious Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan buy it. It contains a huge error that goes against BtVS canon. Spike intentionally sought out his soul in Africa but the book contends Spike was tricked into doing so. This is a major, whopping mistake and contradicts everything Joss Whedon and everybody else connected with Mutant Enemy has said on the subject. I did not and will not be purchasing this book because of this careless oversight.

So, Buffy don´t love Spike? Well, in the last show ('Chosen' s.7) she tell´s him that she does. O:K that could have been a lie, but i read a 'explaining text' about that show, written by Joss Whedon. And do yo know what it stands there? That she really do love him! Suck on that one, SUCKERS!
