I remember loving this book as a child, so the story itself must be wonderful from the perspective of a child. However, as an adult, I would NOT want my children reading this book. It glorifies the "profession" of being a thief. Granted both burglar's reform themselves in the end, the rest of the book devotes absolutely no time to actually showing impressionable youth why the two burglars should have reformed. In retrospect, I think I might now have an idea why I was such a kleptomaniac during my first few years of school.
