'Catharsis,' by definition, is the release of intense, repressed emotion. By writing these poems, LaGrand experiences her own catharsis and comes to terms with the many things life offers. The first full-length work of A.E. LaGrand, it encompasses her journey through love, heartbreak, loss, depression, and solace over the past year in poetic form.

About the Author
A.E. LaGrand is an eighteen-year-old poet living in central North Carolina. Since earning a Gold Key and two Honorable Mentions for poetry in the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition, she has - to date - written well over five hundred poems and numerous other works, in addition to working as a freelance journalist. She attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a major in English and a minor in creative writing.
