I anxiously awaited this book so I can make a Lottie doll for my great-granddaughter. The patterns are varied and cute. The instructions are clear. But this seems to be more a craft/display doll than a toy. There is a lot of hand sewing, which sometimes does not make a sturdy toy for small children to play with. If you can adapt the methods of construction to be stronger and sturdier, then the dolls can make excellent toys. I don't knit, so I can only speak to the dolls that are sewn.
