"A strong, successful man is not the victim of his environment. He creates favorable conditions. His own inherent force and energy compel things to turn out as he desires."

We are surrounded by abundant energy. It swirls around us as we float through life, sometimes unaware of the impact this energy has on us. Everything – from the sun, to the earth, to the trees – emits energy. It is this energy that binds us together as human beings. We are able to transfer this energy to our bodies, spirits, and minds to create a spiritual manifestation within ourselves.

Think about the many energies that surround you, both physically and spiritually. Embrace these energies with your whole self, and feel the power within your body and mind. How does energy work to your advantage or disadvantage? Are you surrounded by positive energy? Do you allow negativity to create negative energy in your life? Think about how energy manifests itself in your life.

Find a quiet space in your home, or if it's a nice day, under a tree somewhere. Sit with your legs crossed and close your eyes. Relax your shoulders and your body while thinking about your spiritual energy. Begin breathing in deeply and slowly, acknowledging each breath that you take. Allow your body to absorb the energy that is around you and let that energy course through your body. Think only positive thoughts, no worries, and no negativity. Trust that this positive energy you are creating through mindful breathing will bring you closer to your spiritual self and help guide you on your intended spiritual path.

"Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil."

Our dreams are the manifestation of our hopes, fears, and subconscious thoughts communicating to us while we sleep. Our dreams hold the key to everything we desire and need to live our best, most inspired life. Sometimes our dreams can give us a sense of purpose and direction in life, and often when we most need it.

Dreams also apply to our waking lives and prompt us to act based on knowledge or insight we have gained during sleep. Our higher self sends messages to us while we are sleeping that are for our highest good--secrets from the universe.

Even our aspirations and deepest desires appear in our dreams, and are sometimes even born from dreams. Realizations and epiphanies can occur when we are in touch with both our waking self and our subconscious thoughts.

We often awake thinking about a dream we just had, wondering what its deeper meaning is. Keep a notebook beside your bed with a pen, when you awake from a dream that had an impact on you, write it down. How did the dream make you feel? What hidden messages may be contained in the dream? How can you apply that dream to your waking life to accomplish your goals?

Keeping a dream journal will help you keep in tune with your spiritual self, and allow you to explore your creativity, desires, and solve problems that are stressors in your daily life.

If you have a problem, a question, or something you'd like guidance on, fall asleep thinking about it. Ask your higher self to send you a message. When you wake, write down everything you remember.

Selfless Love

"Transformation just happens when the selflessness of love blooms within the heart."

Imagine yourself unconditionally loving your partner, your children, your family, your neighbors, your friends, and coworkers, and sharing your energy with them without any expectations of love in return. You're sending out positive rays of light and hope with loving gestures that project an aura of positivity around everyone with whom you come into contact.

Selfless love is when we love others regardless of their circumstances, behaviors, attitudes or beliefs. We love them without judgment or fear. We are able to see past the external things that don't matter and clear them away to make way for light and truth.

When you project selfless love, you are sharing a part of your being and teaching others how to selflessly love by inspiring them to do the same.

Using Dr. Rob's 3 G's (Gratitude, Goals & Game Plan) apply these principles to selfless love.

What or who are you thankful for? What are your goals in relation to your gratitude? And finally, what is your game plan for accomplishing your goals?

Gratitude: I am thankful for my siblings and the love I have inside for them.

Goals: I will selflessly love and guide my siblings without the expectation that they will "owe me one". I will simply nurture the relationships because I love them.

Game Plan: I will offer to watch my sister's child one night per week to give her some downtime, and help my brother work on his resume, because I know he doesn't feel fulfilled at his job anymore. Continue to support my siblings without expectation.

Life's Curves

"Transformation just happens when the selflessness of love blooms within the heart."

The road of life has many curves. Sometimes these curves cause us tremendous fear. Fear that we might lose control, lose our way, or fail. What we often forget is that these curves are much less intimidating with the gift of sight. When we can look ahead and prepare for a curve it puts us in control of our own destiny. It allows us to take the wheel and hug the curves of the road closely with ease and perfection, even when the curve is steeper or trickier than we thought. The mere fact that we anticipate a curve helps us better maneuver.

Think of these curves as opportunities to grow and learn. Do not fear them or withdraw from the road, for these curves are what make life splendid. Love the curves. Hug the curves and embrace the light. Once you see the curves for what they really are, you will no longer feel at odds.

Get in your car and go for a drive. Don't have a planned route in mind and don't think about a destination, just think about the journey. Take streets that you've never tried before, let yourself explore the road and be led where the road takes you. Take in the sights around you. Enjoy looking at the trees, the buildings, nature, or even people. Smile in knowing that you are acting without fear.

Have confidence in knowing that you will once again return to a familiar street, and that you will find your way if momentarily lost. You are in the driver's seat.

If you do not drive or just don't have a car, you can apply this lesson to walking as well. Get outside and go for a walk. Turn down a street you've never been down, and let yourself revel in your new surroundings.

"We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far."

Our thoughts shape our reality. Everything begins with a single thought, be it negative or positive. When your energy shifts into thinking about something, you send vibrations out to the universe that attract the essence of those thoughts into your life. When you spend time thinking about something you really desire, you will attract and manifest that desire. Additionally, when you spend time thinking about something that you fear and do not want to happen or see, you are also attracting that into your life.

The specifics and details are unimportant here, as it is the essence and energy of your thoughts that create your reality. When you focus on finding happiness within yourself and stop seeking happiness in others, materials, and circumstances, you will attract abundant joy into your life. There are no limits, only limiting thoughts.

Visualize what you want your life to be. If you are searching for your soul mate, imagine yourself in an intimate embrace with that person, sharing a moment, a smile and a kiss. If you want success and notoriety in your career, imagine yourself being that person. Think about how your life will look, see yourself being that person.

It is, however more than thinking, you must also shift your actions towards your positive thoughts. So, if you want to meet your soul mate, sign up for an online dating site and write a really honest profile about yourself, or if you want to get a better job, focus on creating a strong resume and secure some professional references.

Focusing on the positive things you want to happen is the first step, then shifting your actions to recognize those desires is the next step. The universe will take care of the rest.

Everything is Connected

"Nothing is accidental in the universe -- this is one of my Laws of Physics - except the entire universe itself, which is Pure Accident, pure divinity."

Everything in our universe is connected and created from the same energy. Our thoughts become connected to the universe through the energy of our vibrations. The universe then responds to these vibrations by giving us what we need and guiding us on our intended path. Your feelings and emotions build the foundation of your thoughts, which are then brought into reality with action. Thoughts create action, so we must be mindful of our thoughts and understand how they are connected.

Once we come to terms with the wholeness of our universe and realize that we are all one, it becomes easier to see the messages from the universe that are there to help us navigate through life. When we follow our intended path, everything seems to come together beautifully and falls into place exactly as it should. When we are not following our intended path, things don't flow effortlessly and changes must be made. We can take our cue from the universe about where we need to change. We only need to listen to the knowledge we already have within us.

Because everything is connected, we are very much a part of our universe. We breathe in the universe with our breath. We drink the universe with one of its natural liquids: water. We are in tune with everything about the universe.

Meditate on how your actions are causing reactions in your life with your thoughts and energy. Are you listening to the messages that the universe is sending you? Are you on your intended path? Breathe in deeply with your eyes closed and feel the power of the universe at this moment.

Music & Spirituality

"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."

Music has a deep connection with spirituality and allows us to feel peace, joy, inspiration, reflection, and moved. When we connect with music, it has the ability to give us a sense of belonging and make us feel that everything is as it should be at that moment in time. We are able to connect with our spiritual selves through music and feel things that give us inner strength and connect us to the universe.

We will often feel divine when listening to music; the atmosphere and vibrational pulses around us deliver a tremendous sense of peace and connectedness. Music is universal in nature, and is really the language of our universe. Something we can all relate to and feel in our core. We all listen with our heart.

Find a piece of powerful music in your home. It can be classical, folk, blues, world ...

whatever makes you feel the most emotionally moved. Make sure the room is quiet. If possible, light some candles. Play the music loud enough that it can enter your body and you can feel the vibrations. Absorb the song. Think about how you feel hearing the music.

Let it enter your body, but listen with your heart, not your mind. Feel the universal language of music as it pulses through your body.

Listen as long as you want, but focus on the music, the moment, and the way you feel.

"Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to change will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent."

Being open and allowing others into your heart isn't always an easy thing to do. We spend our lives building walls around ourselves to protect ourselves from getting hurt or feeling vulnerable, however these behaviors aren't really serving us well.

Our soul begins to feel harmonious when we allow it to share, love, and feel freely without fear of judgment or failure. Experiencing our environment with a sense of wonder and openness opens the door for possibilities that would not have otherwise existed. We are suddenly able to create new opportunities for learning and experiencing our life and surroundings. Our open eyes and heart create excitement and great dialogue with others in our life. The opportunity to manifest real ideas also presents itself when our viewpoints are open and flexible.

When having a conversation with a friend, loved one, coworker, or family member, listen to what they are saying without preparing your next statement, or partially listening. Truly take in what they are saying and concentrate on the words, feelings and sentiments of their statements. Do not let your internal dialogue turn towards judgmental thoughts or criticism. Your goal is to listen openly without judgment and to be conscious of the words being spoken.

Although this may sound easy, it is something very few people do. It is only once you start trying to listen this way that you realize how difficult it really is. With a little practice, you will find that your dialogue with people will drastically improve, and you will feel more open and connected as a result.

The Writer Within

"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe."

We all contain within us the sacred gift of creativity, the only difference being that some of us are more practiced with using our gift, and others more repressed. Writing is something that everyone can do regardless of skill, education, experience, and practice. You can begin to write today. Right now. And you will get better with time.

Writing has the ability to make you feel connected with yourself. Through writing you learn to understand yourself and grow and evolve as a human being. Your thoughts deserve attention. This is where writing comes in.

Believe that you are a creative being, that you have amazing thoughts and ideas, and begin the journey of discovering those thoughts through writing.

Earlier in the book, we discussed recording your dreams as you wake. This is a good practice to get into and should be continued. However, now you are going to take it one step further by always having a notebook with you, whether you keep it in your purse, your desk, or just somewhere nearby. When a thought, idea, poem, or story come into your mind, simply write down those thoughts as fluidly and unrehearsed as you can. Focus on the act of writing itself, not on the mechanics of what you are writing. Do this often and you will awaken the writer within.

Inner Light

"Getting in touch with your true self must be your first priority."

We all contain within us an inner light that shines through our souls when we are living our best life and accepting the laws of the universe into our lives. All too often, however, the drudgery of day-to-day life takes over and we are unable to connect with that light. It leaves us feeling stressed out, dissatisfied, and sometimes depressed.

When we lose our inner light, it is because we are not concentrating on the source of true happiness within ourselves. True happiness can only come from within and is not born from material wealth or from the relationships of those in our lives.

We begin to feel serene and happy when we are in tune with our inner light and when we make time to connect with our spiritual selves. You take time out of your life to care for your loved ones; the same time must be taken to nurture your true self.

Meditate on your life as it is at this very moment. Are you where you want to be? Do you feel a harmonious connection to the universe? Think about your hopes and dreams. What are they? Are you following the intended path that the universe has laid out for you, or have you taken another path out of fear, desperation, or sacrifice?

While thinking about where you are and where you want to be, ask yourself what small changes you can make in your life to bring you closer to living the life that you desire.
