Dru World Order

Dru World Order

by Dru Hill

After flamboyant soul man Sisqo scored multi-platinum success with his solo debut, Unleash the Dragon -- thanks to the irrepressible "Thong Song" -- the future of his group Dru Hill seemed uncertain. But after Sisqo's prolonged 15 minutes of fame came to a screeching halt with the sophomore flop Return of Dragon, the singer's return to his roots -- even if he's a little ego-damaged -- makes perfect sense. Dru Hill's eagerly anticipated third album, Dru World Order, reveals that not much has changed about the Baltimore collective's Jodeci- and gospel-inspired harmonies since Sisqo, Woody, Jazz, and Nokio last groaned not-so-sweet nothings on 1998's Enter the Dru. And with the addition of a fifth member, Scola, there's just more for the ladies to love. Produced primarily by Nokio (who's also worked with Mya), the album features sexy ballads such as "Xstacey Jones" and "She Said," featuring Chinky from Sisqo's girl group LovHer; gritty urban grooves such as the Asian-flavored "On Me," featuring rapper N.O.R.E.; and the let-me-steal-you-from-your-boyfriend plea "I Should Be..." Let's just hope that Sisqo realizes that he'll have a longer-lasting musical legacy with Dru Hill and decides to stay put.

I had the chance to actually run into Mr. Sisqo. I wish it could have been the whole crew, but that was more than enough inspiration to my own musical works. This album sure has taken awhile to come out, but they're here and must say, they truly can sing. They undoubtedly are the best R&B soul group that has hit this millenia and hope they will continue to make albums. May all of you buy this album to support this crew for there is only one Dru Hill that will touch the face of this earth for a long time.

For my birthday, I only had one request, "Get me Dru Hill's Dru World Order." This was after barely hearing the first single, I Should Be, and abandoning my three singles rule for purchasing an album (I usually wait until an artist has three songs, that I like, out from a particular album, before I get it). November 28th came, I turned 24 years old and fell in love with Dru Hill all over again. I have yet to put the CD down or listen to anything else for days. The album showcases an older, more mature, more vulnerable Dru Hill. The songs are autobiographical in nature with a break for two club bangers, the second single, No Doubt, and, On Me, featuring N.O.R.E. Seventy-five percent of the album was either written by or co-written by Dru Hill members. The mysterious and sexy (per chat room conversation) Nokio, is the co-executive producer for the album and produced the majority of the songs performed for N-Tity Productions. As can be heard through, She Said, featuring Chinky of Lovher, and, Men Always Regret, Mr. Sexy himself had some growing up to do and did it the hard way. The songs are beautiful and share the situations, and emotions that follow, that so many men have gone through. They are heart felt and driven by smooth melodies and that irreplaceable Dru Hill harmony. I Love You, and, Never Stop Loving You, both discuss love that once was and the desire to reclaim it. The first is a Nokio, Scola and Sisqo creation. The later is Jazz's baby, and will no doubt assist in bringing a few more into existence. The sincerity in the words and their voices during the delivery just makes you want to work out any relationship problems you may have had or be going through. You're probably wondering who is Scola? I'll take this time to introduce him. He is the newest member of the group, added in 2001. He is there because he has always been down with the Baltimore foursome, ghost member number five, not to replace anybody. I repeat, not to replace anybody. I was a little skeptical when I first heard about the new group dynamic but rested assure when they appeared on BET's Walk Of Fame. The man can blow, as you can hear for yourself in the first single, How Could You, and, If I Could, to name a few listening references. How Could You, and, My Angel, are the two songs Woody lends his pen to as well as his sweet tenor voice. This album doesn't follow the slight pattern I saw present in the first two, Dru Hill, and, Enter The Dru. They rely less on Sisqo for the lead vocals and have chosen not to put their spin on an R&B classic, this time around. I thoroughly enjoyed Dru Hill's past work and have dubbed them worthy of remake approval. By setting this pattern aside, they were able to focus on all the members and afford them the chance to shine, and my how they shine. After living off of, Dru World Order, I can now say I know all of their voices, Scola included, without any hesitation. I feel this is their best project to date and that they will only get better as they continue to live and grow, both in their personal and professional lives. If you have been suffering through Dru Hill withdrawal, like me, or just feel like listening to some honest, for real R&B/Soul music, get the album now. Put the CD player on repeat and get lost inside the music. Inside the hurt. Inside the remorse. Inside the loss. Inside the love. Inside the joy of Jesus Christ. Journey to a Dru World.

The Dru World Order is an album that you won't regret buying. It was worth waiting four years to hear from the new and improved Dru Hill. This is an album that many peolpe can relate to. It'll make you appreciate life and it'll definetely make you wish that Dru Hill was your boyfriend. It's an album where each member expresses themselves to the world. There are lots of slow jams and love ballads that make you appreciate the value of love. One of the songs entitled Xstacy-Jones is a song where the guys are curious and what to find out why this lady name is xstacy, but unfortunately she is playing games. The album as a whole is beautiful and you can bounce to it and make love at the same time. Just go out and get it and you'll be gald you did. Dru Hill isn't playing games any more so " expect the unexpected".

The mood that "Dru World Order" puts me in is dreamy. It's like I go into a trans. The music is as romantic as music gets. Think about all the bad relationship one person experiences, and then listen to Dru Hill's new Cd. This Cd will give you reason to believe in love, a romantic, exciting, and passionate love. There is love, and Dru hill reminded me, just when I forgot.

HOT and SEXY! This Dru Hill CD is the best out of all of them! This cd features some hot and crazy songs like "No Doubt," "On Me,"and "Xstacey Jones" it also has some smooth, slow songs like "I Love You" and the blazin track "I Should Be" all in all, this cd is plain fire!

The album showcases an older, more mature, more vulnerable Dru Hill. The first single "I Should Be" is a smashing hit that some of us can relate to. The second single "No Doubt" is more on the club/party level as well as "On Me". On other songs such as, "Xstacy Jones" they explore relationship struggles." I Love You", and, "Never Stop Loving You", both discuss love that once was and the desire to reclaim it. If your wondering about new member Scola, well his powerful voice blends right in with the other known four members giving every track that smooth melody and that heart felt irreplaceable Dru Hill harmony. Wether making sweet love, thinking about your love or just relaxing this ablum is for you!

As of 11/26 the world has experenced quite a few thrills. The biggest thrill was for every druhill fan that has waited 4 years for their next project. On Sisqo's album" Unlease the dragon", He said "The Dru World order has begun". And it has. I was very satisfied with the first track "Love/Hate". The soothing melody can put anyone in a trance. This album shows the individual growth of each memeber to make this album a sure classic. There is something for everyone. From the Hot stepping" No doubt" to the Thugged out " On me" featuring Mr thugged out himself, NORE. For the ladies there is the smooth and sexy " Xtsasy Jones". The album also has a touch of Old school Druhill like"She said","I love you", and my favorite," Old love". I was also very pleased to hear the dedication "My Angel" to Woody's mother whom passed away some time ago. The overall album was there best work yet. It's made to please everyone old or young. It's sure to bring the haters to their knees and buy the album. As a Druhill Fan myself, I dont regret a penny i spent and neither will you.

It's been 4 years since the last Dru Hill album entitled "Enter the Dru" has hit the shelves. Now with the latest album "Dru World Order," the group returns with a series of hot beats, crazy harmonies, love ballads, and a new member. I often find myself hitting the play button on my computer or my diskman to play the album another 3 to 4 times, until I realize that I'm getting addicted. The new Dru Hill album lives up to it's name as the Dru World Order.
