Overview

Jennifer Lopez stars in this gritty, emotional drama as police officer Sharon Pogue, who covers up a painful past with an anger that fuels her job performance in one of Chicago's toughest precincts. Although her partner Robby (Terrence Howard) is concerned about Sharon, she won't confide even in her closest friend. Sharon's life takes a turn, however, when she's saved from a violent assault by Catch Lambert (James Caviezel), a haunted, enigmatic do-gooder whose guardian-angel deeds make him a hero to some, like disabled shut-in Elanora Davis (Shirley Knight). Sharon becomes romantically involved with Catch, with whom she has more in common than she imagines, as Catch is also tortured by a painful, traumatic event from his past. Angel Eyes, which is directed by Luis Mandoki and written by Gerald DiPego, co-stars Sonia Braga, Alfonso Arau, Jeremy Sisto, and Victor Argo.

Jennifer shines. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Each time I watch, I see something new. She is the Streisand of her time....brains, beauty, and class.

This is one of those rare movies that grabs your attention and holds it. An atypical movie for both primary actors, this film is at once engaging and emotion provoking. Both primary characters are driven by loss and both find each other in their loss. The give and take of a slowly building relationship moves toward two possible conclusions; connection or separation. The only way to find out which occurs is to watch the movie and experience the pain of two wounded souls at once driven apart and driven together.

I really enjoyed this film a lot. If you are looking for car chases and things blowing up, look elsewhere. But, if you want a deep, moving story about two people who end up helping each other, this is great. I liked the way the film was quiet, yet very affecting. The acting by Jim Caviezel was the best in this movie. He can say a thousand things with just his eyes. You should check out this thoughtful film.

What an absolutely nice movie. It had been promoed as a mystery, but turned out to be a sweet love story. I enjoyed this a lot and would definitely recommend it.

Truly a good film. I suspect that it speaks to many of us in the real world. Every moment is a chance to change our ways but many do not for reasons I am not competent to speak about. Perhaps viewing this movie will help.
