Martin Ritt's adaptation of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings's memoirs, Cross Creek, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a newly produced featurette that contains Mary Steenburgen's recollections on the making of the film, and a theatrical trailer. This is a decent enough title from Anchor Bay that should please fans of the film.
