Widower Frank Goode has had to make plenty of adjustments since losing his wife about a year ago, but maybe the hardest one has been maintaining his relationships with his four adult children. It would seem that Frank's wife was the glue who held the family together, and when all of the kids bug out on a planned visit home, he decides to set out on a trip around the country, dropping in on each of their lives in order to help put things right. But their relationships aren't as simple as they once seemed, and Frank's paternal intuition is telling him that his sons and daughters are hiding something from him - and if the Goodes want to become the family they once were, the truth will have to come out before Frank returns home.

This movie is right on target when it comes to capturing family relationships. Most everyone has experienced the consequences of trying to protect a loved one by either keeping the truth from them or telling only half-truths. I loved the subtle humor & the look at lives from different perspectives...especially those between parent & offspring. Robert DeNiro appears so "real" in this film that it doesn't even seem like he's acting. Highly recommended!

I found this movie to be very poignant and emotional. For anybody that has parents or siblings. A real eye opener. I think this story happens in many American families.

This is a must see film. There is so much wisdom, hidden sometimes within. There are common threads throughout that we all experience in one or more ways & can learn from. This movie calls up real life. Funny, sad, lighthearted & serious. I rarely purchase a film I've already have seen but this one I will buy. It's a keeper for sure. I didn't know Robert De Niro acted in movies such as this one. I hope he does more real life ones. For me this is a film with a purpose, a good purpose.

A favorable review: this is a good first step to family therapy. Everybody's Fine with Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell is a tale were Frank Goode wants to spend a little quality time with his adult children, therefore he plans a family reunion but at the last minute each of his children cancel on him. He decides to make surprise visits to each of them and what he learns on each "surprise" visit is a surprise to him. He learns the truth and he must deal with what he learns. This is a tale of a family learning to be real with each other. "Strong language" aka "potty mouth syndrome" in this DVD is not appropriate for children. The storyline has many adult situations discussed in it. *This DVD is heart-warming. *There are some sad, touching moments. *It is good for pondering family relationships.
