Overview

Regis Wargnier's Oscar winning Indochine comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The closed-captioned French soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include trailers, production notes, and talent files. This is a fine release from Columbia/TriStar that could have been better, but should satisfy fans of the film as well as those with an interest in French cinema.

What an amazing movie. Without a doubt, this will be viewed as a classic someday. Powerful, intriguing, and beautiful--the story of transformation of Indochine to Communist Vietnam through a French woman and the imprisonment of her daughter. A real work of art. You'll be thinking about this film for days after you watch it...I recommend this as highly as I possibly can. A great choice, captures the time.
