Fans learn the truth about Kermit the Frog and his younger days in Kermit's Swamp Years. The film is presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen as well as a 1.33:1 full-frame version. Both of these transfers appear to be in tip-top shape, especially the widescreen print. With sharp colors and dark black levels, fans of the green one will be very happy with how these pictures look. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround in French, Portuguese, English, and Spanish. This is a decent 5.0 mix that includes some directional effects filtered through both the front and back speakers. While this 5.0 mix won't give home theater systems a really thorough workout, it does support the film very well. Also included on this disc are English, Chinese, Thai, and Korean subtitles. Kermit's Swamp Years sports some entertaining extras, starting with a video interview with Kermit featuring the lovable reptile answering questions about his past. A screen-specific commentary track with Kermit and Horace the Horsefly is a hoot with recollections about the production (and each of them being quite silly). A behind-the-scenes featurette includes footage from the production along with funny asides by the actors (aka Muppets) in the film. Finally there's a humorous blooper reel and a boatload of trailers for other Columbia family DVDs.
