Robin Hood is one of the first animated films produced by the Walt Disney Company after Walt Disney's death in 1967. For the film, the studio's animators took the Disney tradition of adding human-like animal sidekicks to established tales (Cinderella, Pinnochio) a step further by making Robin Hood's legendary characters creatures themselves. Robin Hood (Brian Bedford) is a wily fox; Maid Marian (Monica Evans) is a beautiful vixen; Little John (Phil Harris) is a burly bear; Friar Tuck (Andy Devine) is a soft-spoken badger; the Sheriff of Nottingham (Pat Buttram) is a greedy wolf; and the scheming Prince John (Peter Ustinov) is a sniveling, groveling, thumb-sucking undersized lion with a serpent sidekick named Sir Hiss (Terry Thomas). The film begins after Prince John and Sir Hiss have tricked the true King into leaving the country on a phony crusade. With the help of the Sheriff of Nottingham, they tax the life out of Nottingham's peasants, leaving them all penniless but with the courageous Robin Hood as their only hope. ~ Aubry Anne D'Arminio

Always my favorite childhood movie. Funny, loving, joyful, and translating the legend of this amazing hero into a language that a child - and an adult - can understand and enjoy.

I'm well past the age where Disney animated films are "cool" or whatever, but Robin Hood is still on my top ten favorite films! It's a great adaptation of the Robin Hood stories, and still holds enough suspense to keep most viewers watching. A good buy for anyone who appreciates this type of story.

I haven't this one in a long long time and has to be one of my all time favorite disney movies next to a bug's life to dinosaur. This is a really old film and thought the fox does make a pretty good robin hood, same goes for maid marian. Its the story of the title character and you pretty much know the story from there like the archery tournament.

Wow! This movie is a LOT better than I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be cheesy since all the characters were animated, but... IT WAS JUST SO COOL!!! This is a really good adaption to the legend we all love so much. I really liked Little John and Maid Marian and Clucky, Maid Marian's lady-in-waiting (who is a fat hen!!). Really good movie. Animation was excellent, colors were brilliant, perfect voices for the characters, great storyline, good humor, and no plot holes and/or cheesy jokes. This is a cool movie, and I want to buy it for myself soon on DVD! Really good. There's nothing in this movie that may scare kids 7 and under. Little kids should be able to sit through this movie ok. I even think teens may find this movie enjoyable as well!
