Directed by Gregg Champion, The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn follows the story of small town carpenter and farmer Noah Dearborn (Sidney Poitier), whose family land comes under the scrutiny of greedy land developer (George Newbern. Though his humble character holds the respect of the tiny community in which he resides, the unscrupulous developer does his best to have Noah declared mentally incompetent, going as far as to hire a psychiatrist (Diane Weist) for the specific purpose of deeming Noah insane. However, he didn't figure that Noah and the psychiatrist would formulate a strong, unique friendship. The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn also features actress Mary-Louise Parker. ~ Tracie Cooper

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Sidney Poiter is marvelous in this role. His portroyal of Noah Dearborn reminds me of my late brother. Quiet, strong, and wonderful.

I dont know if there is something wrong with my feelings...but this movie made me belive Im as normal as I can get! Though Im a MAN, it tuch me so much, that I ones in a while had to drop some tears...(wich honestly was nice)... It has been so long since I last saw a movie that tuched me the way this did... I wish I had more words to add...but THANKS to Gregg Champion for making this movie, and specially thanks to ''Sidney Poitier & Mary-Louise Parker'' wich in my life and heart - would never be forgotten!
