Three's Company: Season 1

Three's Company: Season 1

Director: Bill Hobin Cast: John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, Suzanne Somers

Three's Company would become a huge hit for ABC and remain popular in syndication for nearly two decades. The show started its first season as a replacement series with only six episodes being created. Each of those episodes are presented on this box set on a transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but the shows themselves should satisfy any fan of the series.

I love watching Three's Company on reruns. I am glad that it is finally out on DVD. It's too bad it had to come out after John Ritter's death. He was truly a comedic genious. The supporting cast is also terrific. Joyce DeWitt is a great actress in my opinion. The chemistry between her and John Ritter is evident in these episodes. Three's Company is one of the funniest sitcoms of our generation. I can say this because I'm a big fan of sitcoms, particularly old school sitcoms. Just buy the DVD!!! It's worth it.

Three's Company is one of my all time favorite shows. i was excited to hear that it was released on DVD. I watched it growing up as a kid, and can never get tired of watching it in reruns. John Ritter can always make me laugh. I was shocked when I heard about his passing, and I will never forget him. He will continue to make me laugh with this DVD, and look forward to the release of season 2.

Three's Company is a jewel in the rough, who knew that this 70's sitcom can beat out most of what's on TV today. It not only makes you laugh but the intelligent wit, sarcasm and charm threw into each episode gives it a kick, some jokes and one liners are so good that I can't believe I it took me so long to finally watch this. Of course I didn't discover it myself, my boyfriend made me watch it - I saw the entire 1st season in one sitting, and that's coming from a girl who doesn't like to watch TV! I couldn't get enough and simply had to see the whole thing.

The premise sounds simple enough; two female roommates, Janet and Chrissy who have a third roommate, Jack - pretending that he's gay in order not to get evicted by the landlords Mr and Mrs. Roper. They are trying to balance their new friendship and the snooping landlords, visiting parents and not get caught while going through challenges of life and work in a funny, lighthearted manner. The stress in this show is comedic, not draining to the viewer.

I think there's something cozy and cute about 70's décor and even the semi hideous clothing that I find fascinating. My favorite character is the landlady, her sarcasm is priceless and her smug remarks jabbing at her husband and lack of passion in the bedroom are sharp but unquestionably hilarious. Her eye rolling and faces are priceless too, her character ads a level of delightful mischief to the show. The first season is just six episodes but I all ready have the rest and can't wait to sink into it. The real fun part is that each episode has a theme and things always go crazy and get out of hand for the roommates. Not getting caught or figuring out the problem is always a fun resolution at the end of each show.

Fun and easy to watch, perfect for the weekend when you can sit down, grab a snack and try not to fall of the couch from laughing.

Jack lived with two women in this sitcom series and it is real slapstick like the old Three Stooges series so you will not be able to stop your laughing! These shows are priceless and this is a great DVD to start or add to your comedy collection. Enjoy it I do!

I stumbled upon this at two in the morning on TV Land. I immediately loved it. It's one of those shows you can count on to make you laugh. I would have to say that being a teenager, this probably shouldn't be my favorite show, but it is. I hadn't even heard of it before 2010. Then I looked it up on the internet. Sad to find out John Ritter passed on, as well as the lovable 2nd landlord Don Knotts. This may not have many episodes, but you'll want to watch it again and again.

I have been a fan of this tv wonder for a while now and i think that people should get it for numberous reasons. I think it would be so touching if many people buy this and it makes a great donation to a Cerebral Palsy fund. It would be a great way to show appretiation to the Ritter family and im sure its what John would've wanted. For another great reason...the show is positively humerous. For someone like me who enjoys poetry and photography to laugh so much at this show is great. Im looking forward to the next seasons release.
