This must be the first user-friendly foreign language book in history. The reader is treated to colorful pictures of common scenes with related dialog. Each bit of dialog is paired with the correct pronunciation. The manner in which the book is organized adds to the ease of learning. The headings identify specific situations, i.e., shopping, going out, sports, emergencies, etc. The information provided is geared toward the traveler. There is also an Essential French Dictionary. The same theme applies - pictures of common situations - but with extensive identification of objects in each scene. You'll find yourself reading both books just for the pleasure of it - and learning French along the way. (btw - the books are small paperbacks that fit quite nicely in your suitcase)
