Adyashanti asks us to let go of our struggles with life and open to the full promise of spiritual awakening: the end of delusion and the discovery of our essential being. In his 15 years as a spiritual teacher, Adyashanti has found that the simpler the teaching, the greater its power to change our lives.

In Falling into Grace, he shares what he considers fundamental insights that will “… spark a revolution in the way we perceive life”. Available in CD or book format, here is a progressive inquiry exploring:

The human dilemma—the concept of a separate self and the choice to stop believing the thoughts that perpetuate suffering

• “Taking the backward step” into the pure potential of the present moment

• Why spiritual awakening can be a disturbing process

• Intimacy and availability—feeling absolute union with every part of our experience

• True autonomy—the unique expression of our own sense of freedom

In the same way that we fall into the arms of a loved one or drop our heads on the pillow at night, we can surrender into the beauty and truth of who and what we really are. Falling into Grace is an investigation into the core of why we suffer. It's also Adyashanti’s invitation “… to be taken by a moment of grace and fall into a sense of life when it is not separate from you, when life is actually an expression of something indefinable, mysterious, and immense.”

Read an Excerpt

When I was a young child, about seven or eight years old, one of the things I started to notice and ponder as I watched the adults around me was that the adult world is prone to suffering, pain, and conflict. Even though I grew up in a relatively healthy household with loving parents and two sisters, I still saw a great deal of pain around me. As I looked at the adult world, I wondered: How is it that people come into conflict?

As a child, I also happened to be a great listener-some may even say an eavesdropper. I would listen to every conversation that went on in the house. In fact, it was a family joke that nothing happened in the house without me knowing about it. I liked to know everything that was going on around me, and so I spent a lot of my childhood listening to the conversation of adults, in my home and in the homes of relatives. Much of the time, I found what they talked about to be quite interesting, but I also noticed a certain ebb and flow to most of their discussions-how conversations moved into a little bit of conflict, then back away from it.

I have read many of Adyashanti's writings, articles and attended some of his retreats. I thought 'Emptiness Dancing' was his best book but now believe 'Falling into Grace' is by far his most important writing. Whether you are a seasoned practioner or new to the path and looking for clear guidance and answers this will be of value to you. I read it, then read 'The End of Your World' and have gone back to reading Falling into Grace a second time and finding so much more. If you read nothing else by Adyashanti, read this book.

In my experience, Adya has a gift for interpreting soul-deep and often very challenging ancient Zen teachings in a way that makes them easier for a novice student to understand and put into daily practice. He writes from his heart about his own experience and insights. His live talks are often sprinkled with a delightfully natural sense of humor. Much gratitude for this teacher!

Adya is so readable! _Falling into Grace_ literally expresses Adya's complete release into the grace that surrounds all of us, but that most of cannot fully surrender into. Although he provides the pointers for us to follow, he is not prescriptive in his teaching. Other than opening out hearts to love, there seems not to be a prescription.

I'd recommend this to anyone interested in spirituality or seeking enlightenment. Spirituality is the union of the Body, Heart, Mind and Soul. Enlightenment is more than anyone can explain. At most words can only point someone in needed direction. Adyashanti has helped many along the path to enlightenment. This book gives his Philosophy, Knowledge, and Wisdom. It has Powerful questions that can strengthen and expand the mind or nourish the heart Also detailed stories of both his own awakening and those he'd guided.
