The book Gambling by Stewart Gail give the history of gambling, how it became what it is today, and an unbiased discussion on the topic of gambling. The major theme of this book is gambling but more specifically, the change gambling has gone through over time and how it has become this great compulsive part of modern society. This is a great book to read to gain knowledge of where gambling started and how it became what it is today it gives great detail and facts on the history of gambling. I liked all the history it gave on gambling and how much detail there was about the history, but I didn’t like how it didn’t give as much detail on the compulsive parts and what it is today in society. If you like the history of gambling and would love to learn more this is the book to read but if you are not looking for the history of gambling there are better books. This book should not be made into a movie because there would be no real story to the movie just a list of how gambling changed. Gail has a very simple yet effective writing style when it comes to this book. It is not very high level reading but I think the simplicity adds to the book because it does not over complicate the topic and muddy up the reading. For and overall rating I would give this book an 8.5/10 (10 being the best possible).
