About the Author

David P. Clark, Professor of Microbiology at Southern Illinois University, has published 70+ articles in scientific journals; the U.S. Department of Energy funded his research into the genetics and regulation of bacterial fermentation for 25 years. His books include Molecular Biology Made Simple and Fun, Third Edition. Anne Maczulak is a Ph.D. microbiologist who has consulted on water quality, sewage, flu vaccine manufacturing, and many other issues. The author of The Five-Second Rule and Other Myths about Germs, she guests regularly on Sirius/XM’s Martha Stewart Living Radio, answering callers’ questions about germs. Greg Gibson is Professor of Genetics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and of Integrative Biology at the University of Queensland, Australia. He is a leader in the new field of genomics, studying how interactions between genes and environment affect health and evolution.
