Overview

Germs are all around us, but they're too small to see. Many germs are harmless, but two kinds, viruses and bacteria, can make you sick! How? Read and find out! This classic Level 2 Let's-Read-and-Find-Out picture book is all about germs, how they can make you sick, and how your body works to fight them off.

Now rebranded with a new cover look, this book features rich vocabulary and simple diagrams to explain why you feel poorly when you're sick and how your body keeps you healthy by producing antibodies. Both text and artwork were vetted for accuracy by Dr. Melanie Marin.

This is a Level 2 Let's-Read-and-Find-Out, which means the book explores more challenging concepts perfect for children in the primary grades and supports the Common Core Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Let's-Read-and-Find-Out is the winner of the American Association for the Advancement of Science/Subaru Science Books & Films Prize for Outstanding Science Series.

Summary:Germs make me sick is about what germs are and how we get them. The book talks about how to keep the germs from getting you sick. Personal Reaction:This book was okay. It is not a book that I would want to read again. It does give good information about germs so that kids can understand it. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. I would use this book in a unit about your health. I would read the book and then make the students write down a few ways to keep them from getting sick.2.I would use this book in a unit about germs. I would have the students tell me what germs how, how to keep them away, and what germs can do to our body.

This is an awesome book that teaches children about germs. It defines germs and show what kind of germs there are. It also tell you where and how you can pick these germs up. The illustartions in this book are very cute and funny. I feel that children would really love this book. They would learn about germs and also be entertained at the same time.

I love this book, because it clearly communicates to young children, thorough colourful illustrations and simple language, how germs make us sick. This book really helped to prepare my son for his immunization.

This is a great book for kids to learn how not to put dirty things in their mouths, wash their hands, etc. My child read this and is much more careful than before.
