This book was recommended to me by my hair dresser who is 20 years younger than me. I thought prior to reading that its content might not apply to me a fifty plus woman. I was wrong. It is a must read with hard truths and inspiring personal stories. It has made me think about whats keeping me from succeeding in all areas of my life.

This book is real. She pours out her sadness to give you hope through yours. She doesn’t try to sell you some miracle self help book. She speaks as though you (the reader) is her friend that she genuinely wants to succeed. I loved every page and will read over and over.

I was somewhat skeptical about this book at first. But with each sentence I keep identifying with every single word! This book gave me goose bumps, made me laugh, cry and helped turn a light back on that had gone off a long time ago. I didn’t want the book to end lol!! I will be reading this over and over again and giving it to my daughters for Christmas!

Excellent book! A definite must-read for every single woman in the whole entire world. Seriously. Hollis does a beautiful job laying out ugly truths and encouraging the reader to make a better life. As she says, STOP waiting for someone else to fix your life. Take care of your body. Go all-in towards your goals. Stop comparing yourself to others. No excuses. Be a good human and treat other humans with kindness and respect. Cry. Laugh. Have fun and be silly. Love. EAT. Have sex. Stop judging people. Lift each other up. Embrace the chaos and don't you EVER give up. Determine what you want your life to be like and go get 'em.

Girl, Wash Your Face By Rachel Hollis Easy to read: Yes Life changing: Yes Inspiring: Yes Full of truths: Yes Down to earth: Yes Yes, Yes, Yes to this book. I want to buy it for every girl I know young and old. I think that Rachels honesty throughout this book is what makes it so special. We are all in need of her words and I hope that you read this book! Perspective: 31 yr old, wife to my high school sweetheart, mother of 2 boys (3 and 7), casual Occupational Therapy Assistant, a sufferer of anxiety/depression, and most important Jesus freak. I can say that this book was read in almost an evening and got me all pumped I couldn't go to sleep. Not to steal the phrase but just do it. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m using Facebook to share my wild experiences and find my inner child and let my spirit run free! I have made SO many mistakes but I feel ALIVE and I’m like loving life now. I GET IT. I am going to meet Rachel Hollis one day and compare stories with her. Watch!! Thank you for writing this. It just reminds me that I’m doing the right things !!! It ain’t easy ladies but it’s worth it!!

Okay, guys I really went back and forth on if I should review this one because I really do not want to get super personal. So this may be short. Anyone that has been following me for a little while would have noticed that this was not my typical read. I don’t find anything wrong with “self-help” books, I just don’t go out of my way to pick them up, in my early 20s I picked up a few and none of them were done in a way that I could get anything from. So with that being my history, I would not have picked up this book had it not been for my sister. I mean she raved about this book all over social media. I don’t mean one post or 10 I mean this went on for weeks to the point that Rachel Hollis really should have added her to the marketing team. So I walked into the book store and saw it sitting there and opened it up and began reading the introduction letter to the reader. I don’t know why or what part of it made me begin to get emotional. One thing that I really don’t like is when a book makes me cry so I promptly put the book down. Let me just say here that I did not finish the intro at that time. But I left the store without the book. I read to escape not to get upset. So I go to target so that I can get my shopping done and something just kept nagging at me, something in me really wanted to read that book. So I get back to the book section of the store and there is the book again not just on one endcap but two. So we are going to go with fate. Reading this book was an experience that I did not expect. To be perfectly honest with you I have never had an experience like this with a book. It was like it was written for me granted somethings didn’t apply but the ones that did I don’t have words for how much I got out of this. The most amazing part is how it has helped me and I noticed the change in me that I never expected to happen. Really my sister wasn’t kidding for me this book was really life-changing and I still can’t believe some of the changes that I have made by just accepting and being myself. The basis of the book is 20 lies we tell ourselves. This book is written in the way that she has overcome/working on each one of these. I marked so many things that I had to buy more book darts. I know that may sound silly but I don’t mark a whole lot of things when I read books usually maybe a couple quotes but I used half a tin on this book and was worried I wouldn’t have enough. I suggest this book for any woman out there something in this book will speak to you!

One of the things I love about reading, is that you get to read a story about someone who has went through some of the same things you yourself have dwelt with and this book is just like that. You'll be encouraged to stop believing those lies!
