This Beat Goes On reissue features a trio of out of print Glen Campbell LPs, Glen Travis Campbell
(1972), I Knew Jesus (Before He Was a Star)
(1973), and I Remember Hank Williams
(1974), all originally issued on Capitol. While a few singles from these albums managed to sneak into the Top 50 country charts, no hit material was pulled from them. It appeared Campbell was on the down side of his tenure with Capitol, although by 1975 he would be topping the charts again with "Rhinestone Cowboy." While all three sessions contain pleasant adult contemporary and country-pop tunes, they occasionally get lost in over-production, especially on the Hank Williams
set. Unfortunately for collectors, there are no bonus tracks, but the albums have been digitally remastered with extensive new liner notes.
