NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the creator and star of Hamilton, with beautiful illustrations by Jonny Sun, comes a book of affirmations to inspire readers at the beginning and end of each day.
“When the world is bringing you down, Gmorning, Gnight! will remind you that you are awesome.”—Booklist
Good morning. Do NOT get stuck in the comments section of life today. Make, do, create the things. Let others tussle it out. Vamos!
Before he inspired the world with Hamilton and was catapulted to international fame, Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspiring his Twitter followers with words of encouragement at the beginning and end of each day. He wrote these original sayings, aphorisms, and poetry for himself as much as for others. But as Miranda’s audience grew, these messages took on a life on their own. Now Miranda has gathered the best of his daily greetings into a beautiful collection illustrated by acclaimed artist (and fellow Twitter favorite) Jonny Sun. Full of comfort and motivation, Gmorning, Gnight! is a touchstone for anyone who needs a quick lift.

I purchased this book for my 14 year old granddaughter because she is such a big fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda. I was going to give it to her for Christmas but we decided she should have it right away. She loves this book. She states it is uplifting and inspires her. Thank you for such a wonderful book and for being a great human being, Lin. We are huge fans of yours!
Sneak a copy to a friend, a cop, a nurse/aide, retail clerk, mother/father of children at home, chronic illness sufferer, teenager, and absolutely everyone whether you know them or not! And keep one at your bedside to help you remember how wonderful you are!
Excellent book! Brings you up with life changing motivation, especially with Lin's unique poetry like writing. Beautiful style of writing he has in my opinion. And with those illustrations, honestly beautiful book itself! Absolutly wonderful work.
So grateful for Lin-Manuel Miranda and the way he looks out for and cares about everyone. These little messages are so lovely. It’s only 4 stars for me, however, because, as much as I wanted all of his little diddies and encouraging messages collected in a book, I actually think they’re better served individually on twitter and in that medium. (Weird and unexpected, I know.) It’s not that Jonny Sun’s illustrations take away from them (they’re GREAT), it’s more like books are pleasant enough already but these words of encouragement shine more in contrast to twitter’s trash heap self.
GMORNING, GNIGHT (little pep talks for me and you) by Lin-Manuel Miranda with illustrations by Jonny Sun was a delight to read, all in one sitting! For years, LMM has been encouraging his Twitter followers at the beginning and ending of each day. These tweets are like having a life coach, cheerleader, therapist, and great friend whispering affirmations of kindness and motivation into your ear before and after your day. Although I sped through this, I plan on keeping it out to read a few lines each morning with my coffee. This collection would also be perfect for a morning commute or enjoyed with tea or wine at night. The illustrations were clearly sketched to reflect the soulful content of each pair of tweets and add an extra layer of sweet creativity to each page. Thank you to Random House for my copy, in exchange for my honest review.
