About the Author
Gabrielle Douglas is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she made history, becoming the first US gymnast to take home a team and an individual gold medal in the same Olympics. Gabrielle began her training at age six, and became the Virginia State Champion only two years later. When she was fourteen, she left her family in Virginia Beach to train with coach Liang Chow in Des Moines, Iowa. Under Chow's guidance, and with tremendous faith in God's plan for her, Gabrielle competed in the Olympic Trials and walked away with the only guaranteed spot on the team.
Most Helpful Customer Reviews
The book Grace, Gold & Glory: My Leap of Faith is gold-medalist Gabrielle Douglas’ autobiography about her getting the gold in gymnastics at the 2012 London Olympics. This book offers good motivation to anybody who wants to make anything happen in their lives. In order for Gabrielle to make her dream happen she had to have her family's support for all the payments and all the motivation. I recommend this book for people who think they are feeling low and could use a good motivator for anything in life. Gabby didn't have the best life at first, but she made it the best life after she worked for it.
