This graphic novel contains Green Arrow (series 3) #16-21. I have to admit, that this third series is one of my favorite comic series of all time! This particular graphic novel compiles the story of Green Arrow and his old "ward" Arsenal in a long-overdue reunion/roadtrip. As they travel around, collecting seemingly unrelated items, both Arsenal and the reader slowly discover secrets of the past of Green Arrow. This includes some sentimental memories regarding the original Justice League, the Flash, and Green Lantern, as well as Green Arrow's son, Connor.

This trade paperback collects the issues of Brad Meltzer's run on Green Arrow that laid the conceptual groundwork for his excellent 'Identity Crisis' miniseries. It is not heavy on slam-bang action, but the dialogue is very well written and the characters are given unexpected depth--a nice surprise and all too uncommon in superhero comics. If you are curious about a reflective peek inside the mind, motivations, and personal life of a superhero, 'Archer's Quest' will be a treat.
