This book holds college level material while keeping the information writen in such a maner that anyone can use it. It covers everything from diet to locating where a bone has been broken. We keep a copy at the stables by a fist aid kit at all times.
this book was exactly what I needed. I brought my two horses from home to a majorly new climate and since this is my first time taking care of horses all by myself....without mom there....I wasn't sure about some things that were happening to them. but this book is really helping me to know what is normal and what isn't! it's easy to understand. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is new at being on their own with their horses. :)
is contained within the covers of this well-written book. It is chock full of simple to follow action plans that allow you to move through a flow chart with easy to understand yes or no questions. It tells you when you can handle a situation and what to do, and it also tells when you should call a vet, and what you can do to help while you're waiting for the vet to arrive. And, as if that wasn't enough, it also give money saving tips on many things found around your own home, like old tube socks--yes, believe it or not they are very useful--get the book to find out why! This is truly the A to Z equine first aid guide...for the layman!!!!
