About the Author

Vivi Markatos (Msc Computer Animation, BA Theatrical Studies and A level in Graphics) is a professional Illustrator with more than five years experience in children's books and more than 16 published titles. She is multiple times awarded for her artistic and creative endeavours in poetry, comics and illustrations. She got the first place at the Carol Poster Competition of the University of Portsmouth in2016.
She was awarded with a ''Special Recognition'' in an Anthology for the Kilkis Society for a folktale: 2016.
First Place in the Panhellenic competition for One-Act-Comedy writing of Ionikos Association: 2013
''Special Recognition'' in the Panhellenic Comics Competition created by Akto College and Eleftherotypia: 2009.
First place Award for producing a thematic broadcast from the Club Serres on behalf of Unesco: 2009.
Awarded to the top 20 for a panhellenic competition in the most innovative student's blog from the Ministry of Finance in Greece. 2007.
Second Place in the panhellenic student's drawing competition with the theme ''Earth-Sky-Light-Sea'', from Ministry of Education. 2007.

Vivi Markatos spends her free time reading books, writing and drawing. Her favourite colour is the orange. Frank Sinatra used to say that ''orange is the colour of happiness''.
Vivi illustrates her work with experimentations to traditional and digital mediums. She likes animals and she is devoted to children's entertainment and education. Her work is recognised for its didactic moral and deeper meaning that emerges from it. A lot of kids around the world are inspired by her books sending her messages and their drawings of her characters.
