"One second. One mistake. One firing of the missile in the midst of the war. The missile cannot come back. The weapon is now headed for you. And the one who fired it is on your side. It is war. Hit by friendly fire.
"This is not Baghdad or the Battle of the Bulge or Pork Chop Hill. I am speaking of the many walking wounded in the body of Christ who have been hurt by other believers, people who have been hit by the betrayal of a Christian."
Thus Dr. Michael A. Milton begins this message. Diagnosing the problem, finding the biblical solution, and applying the divine balm with pastoral thoughtfulness, we are pleased to offer the Church a little booklet that has already been used by many to find hope and healing. This is a book for seasoned pastors and newly converted Christians, for idealistic students and cynical saints. It is a book for all of us. For at one time or another on this side of heaven, we could all get hit by friendly fire.
