“At the core, Hit Refresh, is about us humans and the unique quality we call empathy, which will become ever more valuable in a world where the torrent of technology will disrupt the status quo like never before.” – Satya Nadella from Hit Refresh
“Satya has charted a course for making the most of the opportunities created by technology while also facing up to the hard questions.” – Bill Gates from the Foreword of Hit Refresh
The New York Times bestseller Hit Refresh is about individual change, about the transformation happening inside of Microsoft and the technology that will soon impact all of our lives—the arrival of the most exciting and disruptive wave of technology humankind has experienced: artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and quantum computing. It’s about how people, organizations, and societies can and must transform and “hit refresh” in their persistent quest for new energy, new ideas, and continued relevance and renewal.
Microsoft’s CEO tells the inside story of the company’s continuing transformation, tracing his own personal journey from a childhood in India to leading some of the most significant technological changes in the digital era. Satya Nadella explores a fascinating childhood before immigrating to the U.S. and how he learned to lead along the way. He then shares his meditations as a sitting CEO—one who is mostly unknown following the brainy Bill Gates and energetic Steve Ballmer. He tells the inside story of how a company rediscovered its soul—transforming everything from culture to their fiercely competitive landscape and industry partnerships. As much a humanist as engineer and executive, Nadella concludes with his vision for the coming wave of technology and by exploring the potential impact to society and delivering call to action for world leaders.
“Ideas excite me,” Nadella explains. “Empathy grounds and centers me.” Hit Refresh is a set of reflections, meditations, and recommendations presented as algorithms from a principled, deliberative leader searching for improvement—for himself, for a storied company, and for society.

About a thief bill gates: Bill gates is like modern criminal such as India's Mukesh Ambani. that is why he has good relations with like partner and they are found in India leadership. there are many more in other countries like Gates who have fraudulently takne over others assets/products for free and claimed it their own by using immoral lawyers. Has anyone watched BOSTON LEGAL ? that is how law firms are -dirty in all ways. or read lucifer's ba nker -theft Bill Gates knowledge: He is a zero with some basic fiddling around with school computer and using his millionaire parents who are in seattle to market computer in Texas. He stole all th OS code from Kildal (who some years later died of some heart disease at yong age pof 56.) Windows GUI also stolen from visi calc during las vegas expo. He is a shameless fellow. Like Ambani. free world leaders. Having said that you can verify the above facts. dont go by his lawyers that Gates did the OS. It is the same type who support Al gore and climate change science. So that is why Bill gates find it easy to fid partners in India.
Three major segments of use... First a mini biography of SN's beginnings and the Why's of his life. Secondly the essential and fragile nature of Culture in an organization and methods of change and ownership. Third is the enormous overview that SN has of technology, where we may be going with it and at what velocity. I found the first half of the book impossible to put down!
ok so satya nadella hit refresh? and unfortunately he dont know that when he joined MSFT in 1994 after 2 degrees in computers in usa, here in india our engineers had helped me compete a maor tech project .by december of that year( just after India bought the a 'match fixed' miss world/universe title for sen/rai.) This project code ( if i am not mistaken was later sold by a senior American based chitibank India rogues to oracle india finance(flexcube), polaris, Infosys(finacle) and tCS.) This is the famous ' core banking' project all india networked module, all for our corrupt India and my team had only about half a dozen smart engineers. during thi execution we kicked out a a dozen supine as*h*les of IIT engineering ( of which incidentally GOOGLE CEO sundar pichai happens to have studied for msc degree) who botched this project by their lack of application and dedication. how did satya become CEO of MSFt? is it because he is very good or something else also? it is only something else. Andhra cm chandrababu nara Naidu and Bill goates the ever greedy duo did this. No problem to start out cheap, but unfortunately even today in India there is no scope for individual to shine on their own. but i wil prove my point above and finish of silicon valley in india and join hands with other respectable valley or mountain or islanders in technology starlwarts and solve many pending problems that are more important than spending money on unproven technology such as 5g, solar technology, wind farm that destroys birds, unpredictable and that one that causes noise pollution.
