"I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance.
And when you get the chance to sit it out or dance ---
I hope you dance."

With messages as simple as these, Mark D. Sanders and Tia Sillers have written this year’s most memorable song --- "I Hope You Dance" --- recorded by Lee Ann Womack.

"I Hope You Dance," winner of the 2000 Single and Song of the Year awards at the 2000 CMA awards, in addition to being atop the charts for six weeks, is now the subject of a book written by songwriters Sanders and Sillers with an introduction by the recording artist, Lee Ann Womack.

I Hope You Dance takes these thought provoking lyrics that have touched the hearts and imaginations of people of all ages, the whole world over, and expands on their ideas of courage, hope, faith, love, and most importantly just getting out and trying.

Filled with beautiful, full-color illustrations by Nashville-based Grammy Award winning Jackson Design, and containing a special acoustic version of "I Hope You Dance" recorded by Lee Ann Womack just for this project, I Hope You Dance is a wonderful way to tell someone you care about that you hope they jump in and experience all life has to offer.

As Lee Ann Womack says in the introduction of this book about the song she made a hit across the globe, If my children understand the meanings of these lyrics when they are grown, then I have done my job as a mother.

I agree with previous reviewers about this JOURNAL - the look and feel of the paper and the subtle graphics make you want to use this journal. But the description makes it sound like this is a book about the song, which it isn't. And you don't get an acoustic recording by Lee Ann Womack. It's a very, very nice journal/diary, though!

I have almost filled my first of these journals with things for which I am grateful. I love the spiral spine, which allows the journal to stay flat when I am writing in it. I am buying another one today because it's the best inspirational journal book I have used. It's very slightly corney but it's the type of corney that makes a difference. It actually inspires!

I bought the book this is based on for my daughter as she was heading to college. I bought three of the journals for my teenage nieces. It is beautiful, thought-provoking, and shows the love and concern of the giver. It would be fun to write in this journal. The pages are lovely with encouraging words and advice.

This journal is an uplifting encourager to continue writing your thoughts. I have never been a fan of keeping up with journals but I feel that that is all about the change with a pen in hand and this brilliant journal.

I have enjoyed these journals because I like the aged paper ... I like that is has lines ... I like the feel of the paper and that it makes you WANT to write in it and be expressive. Something about plain white paper always turns me off. If you like richness of quality, I think you'll like this. Plus the metal binder rings makes it easy to flip pages, and open flat so it is easier to write. This can be a problem with some leather bound journals ... journals need to open completely. Otherwise the writing process is not comfortable. I will definately continue to buy more of these and have given them as gifts. Plus, it's nice you can place your own photo in the cover to personize it. Best suited for a female.
