About the Author

Funny, frank and affable, Ms. Krantz often describes herself as one of those kids who headed to the library for a good time. A budding author at age thirteen, she published her first article in the Riverton News about her school's new vending machine.
An award-winning author (2008 recipient of a SCBWI Letter of Merit, 2006 DAC Emerging Artists Grant, and a 2000 First Place in Children's Writing from Carteret Writers, Inc.), Ms. Krantz writes poetry and fiction. She also illustrates her own picture books. Active in various print and online forums, her work can be found in Spider Magazine, the SCBWI National Bulletin and Amazon.
In addition to writing, Julie Krantz has raised four children (and had her hair raised by them!). She enjoys hiking, camping, knitting, and visiting schools for workshops, talks and reading presentations.
