Overview

 The best gifts last a lifetime . . .

Veterinarian J.T. “Rush” Rushford isn’t looking forward to Christmas. It’ll be his first without his beloved four-year-old daughter, Claire. A year ago, Rush’s wife divorced him for another man—then broke his heart further by revealing that Claire was her lover’s child. The final blow was Rush losing all parental rights. Now he’s in Branding Iron, Texas, with his mobile vet practice, just hoping to get through the season—until something like a Christmas miracle happens . . .

Turns out Claire’s parents are going on an extended cruise, leaving Rush to take her for the holidays. It’s bittersweet, knowing that he and Claire will have to part again, maybe forever. . . . Until a smart, not to mention beautiful, lady judge with a pregnant cat and an aging mutt takes a liking to the vet and his little girl and gets involved. With her on their side, and love in their hearts, this Christmas just might be the most joyous of all . . .

“The story is full of Christmas spirit . . . Those looking for a little pre-holiday pick-me-up will find plenty to enjoy here.”

This book is a fun read. Rush is a vet whose little girl was taken from him when his wife informed him that she loved someone else and that person was the biological father of the child he thought was his own. He moved to Branding Iron Texas and went into business with two of his buddies and also began running a mobile vet office. He gets a call from a female judge (Tracy) he has admired in the past. She has a stray cat she has taken in that is expecting kittens and an old dog she doesn’t want to die since he is the last living memory of her deceased husband. It is the holiday season in Branding Iron and everyone but Tracy is getting into the Christmas spirit. When Rush gets a call from his little girl’s caretakers stating they have a family emergency and can’t care for her and that her parents are on a Cruise until after the holidays, Rush consents to keep her. The precious little girl revives Tracy’s Christmas spirit and makes Christmas extra special for Rush. I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This was a sweet story told in a Janet Daily way. Tracy is a judge of a small town who recently lost her husband. Rush is the vet who recently lost a daughter he believed was his. Christmas is coming. Can a Christmas wish from a little girl make a family? Makes you wonder! Is there really a Santa Clause? I read this book as an arc from NetGalley. It gets 5 stars

What a wonderful Christmas story! Rush aka Dr. Rushford has been attracted to the local judge since he appeared before her almost a year ago. Now she calls the vet for help with a stray cat that's appeared on her doorstep. Add in a sick dog, a precocious chikd, and a small town of matchmakers and the story's complete. I'd love to see additional stories about Rush's partners. I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinions.

It's a Christmas Thing is a bittersweet yet heartwarming story that could easily happen. Thank goodness, author Janet Dailey does not leave the reader with the way she begins the book. Veterinarian J.T. "Rush" Rushford doesn’t have much to celebrate this Christmas. My heart went out to this man but knew that it could realistically happen. As the story progresses, Rush finds hope and a second chance at love with Judge Tracy Emerson. Tracy has also suffered losses in her life so it is a wonderful story of her also having a second chance for love and a family too. In addition, it doesn’t hurt that she has an excellent working knowledge of the law. Well-written so that it is an easy to follow without getting bogged down with extras. I enjoyed this story with new loves, a sweet girl and kittens too.

Perfect if you're looking for a light quick read with a happy ending! Rush was crushed when his wife left him and then added insult to injury by informing him that Claire is not his biological child. He's thrown himself into his work as a vet. Along the way, he met Tracey, a widowed judge. Amazingly , when Claire needs watching over Christmas, she ends up with Rush and then Tracey figures out a way to keep them closer. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. There aren't any surprises here. There's light romance, there's animals, there's a cute kid, there's good thoughts.

This was a sweet story about finding love and becoming a family at Christmas. It had endearing characters including furr family. The vivid descriptions made me feel like I could visualize the scenery. This was a good story and I would recommend it.

It's A Christmas Thing by Janet Dailey is a small town holiday romance. Ms. Dailey has given readers a well-written story furnished with an outstanding cast of characters. Rush is the only vet in town and partners in a ranch while trying to adjust to being divorced and told his child wasn't his. Tracy is a widow and a judge that takes in a homeless cat. Tracy and Rush's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice and Chistmas fun. I enjoyed reading It's A Christmas Thing and look forward to my next book by Janet Dailey. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I won from Goodreads. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
