The basis of the plot - is the castling of the time, when because of the mistake in the work of time machine, invented by the engineer Tymopheev, the Moscow house-manager Bunsha together with the swindler George Myloslavsky are transferred in time into the Xvi century, and tsar Ivan the Terrible gets into the XX century.the play became the basis for the famous film by Leonid Gaidai "ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession", in which the setting is transferred to the 1970-s.
