Overview

Sadie Slade was the love of my life.

I left for college promising her I'd be back in four years. She stayed behind promising me she'd wait. We both broke our promises.

When we bump into each other five years later, my feelings for her come rushing to the surface.

I want her back. She wants me gone.

How quickly my Sadie Girl has forgotten - I've never been the type of man who accepts defeat. No matter the cost.

Jack Daniels was my entire life.

Until he wasn't. Now he's back and thinks we should pick up where we left off.

I miss the simplicity of what we had. I miss how easily we fit together. Truthfully...I miss him.

But if I allow him to get too close, he'll see I'm not the same girl he left behind five years ago. He thinks I'm upset about our break up. The truth is so much worse.

Ohhh Jack and Sadie! They really tugged on my heart strings. I really enjoyed this twist on a second chance romance. I wasn’t a fan of the cat-fishing aspect but it did go along with the storyline and Jack’s job. The author really made Jack work to get Sadie back and I loved that Sadie was strong enough not to let him get away with a bunch of BS. These two characters grow and learn from their experiences both past and present. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Now it is onto the next generation, an a very good start to it! At 249 pages you have some roller coaster riding to do. Jack an Sadie have known each other all their lives and it has not always been easy. Life gets in the way.... There is heartache, conflict, humor, steamy loving, secrets, an can not forget the parents of these two ( espeically the dads) lol. Highly recommend this book.****

WOW!!! This story was beautiful!! I have loved all of the Fighting series books but Jonah, he was my very favorite! So to get his daughter's story, along with Blake's son, I was so excited for this book! And it was so much more than I expected it to be. Sadie and Jack grew up loving each other. But it seems that isn't always enough. Life seemed to get in the way when Jack went off to college. And eventually Sadie gave up on waiting for something that seemed to get farther and farther away. And if that wasn't enough, life decided to really teach her a hard lesson. But she isn't her parent's daughter for nothing, and eventually she figures out how to take her life back. And just as that's all coming together, Jack shows up again. Jack, or should I say JACKSON, Daniels, is Blake's son, and totally not what I expected! I was kind of disappointed in him in the beginning. In his eagerness to prove himself in the world he chose to live in he seemed to lose everything that his parents taught him, everything Sadie fell in love with. But when he ran into Sadie again he started remembering what made him feel alive, who he needed to be able to stop and breath again. This is Jack & Sadie's story. And it isn't easy, it's kind of messy, but in the end it's EVERYTHING I've come to love from this author!!!

What a sweet book, this book made smile, brought tears to my eyes, ...Jack and Sadie story feels real, when life happens, choices you make. This book can be read as standalone, but is spin off of series. ...you do see the other characters, but it is Jack and Sadie’s story. This author has you fall in love with theses characters, they become like family.

Finally.... Jack, son of Blake "The Snake" and Sadie, daughter of Jonah..... after their fantastic first date in Uncaged, we get their story. It had me emotional within the first couple chapters. Jack isn't quite what I expected as The Snakes son, but I really fell in love with him. He was sexy and funny but also a giant sweetheart. Sadie took the story though. Her past makes her such a strong woman, although her stubbornness made me dislike her a bit at times lol. The storyline was emotional and made me tear up at times but also made me totally swoon! So worth the wait!!

***4.5 Stars*** I’m emotionally exhausted. It’s not a bad thing, it really isn’t, but Jack and Sadie put me through the emotional ringer. Everything I expect to feel while reading a romance came out while reading this baby ~ and more, heaven help me, there was more ~ and even after taking a minute to breathe, I’m still feeling all they put me through. Jack and Sadie. These two. I truly did like/love these two. I did. Both, at their very cores are good people with good hearts. They are passionate and when they are in, they are all in. But they also drove me bsc at the same time. They both had their own..quirk about controlling the narrative of not only their lives, but others, and I really wanted to strip them of that control. But, even when my frustration with them hit, I couldn’t deny that they were people I would love to hang out with. As for their journey to their HEA. It was sweet, swoon worthy, frustrating, heartbreaking as well as heart melting. The angst was real. They had a lot of issues to work through on a personal level as well as a couple, because regardless of everything they’d been through and put each other through, they were always connected. While I do put a lot of things that happened between them on Jack’s shoulders, I cannot dismiss the fact that Sadie also had a hand in it as well. The bumps were numerous...OH. SO. Numerous. But I cannot deny that I loved how everything turned out for them in the end. I’m still dealing with the angsty-ness of Jack and Sadie’s story, but, as with the author’s other books, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. There are triggers, but are handled well and necessary to the development of the characters. As for the characters, they are all unique, flawed and relatable in one way or another ~ Ricky was my fav! And though I have not read the Fighting series, I wasn’t lost in any way and am crossing my toes that I can find time to get started on it since I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Jack and Sadie’s families. ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~
