Living the Gospel in the Grey: The Art of Coming Alongside
154Overview
On the one hand I don't think it is as complicated as the church has made it out to be. The bottom line is that people desperately need Jesus. On the other hand, much of the evangelistic methodology over the last few decades has overlooked the complexities and layers and brokenness of what is going on in the lives of individuals and in culture.
The idea of this book is not to give another how-to manual, but to hopefully encourage the church to live the Gospel in a way that engages their neighbors, friends, and total strangers with the truth and grace of the Gospel-- authentically, consistently, lovingly, and contextually.
We have included some questions at the end of each chapter to facilitate either an internal dialogue or a discussion with friends. If you opt for the former, please do so in a non-verbal way so those sitting next to you in the coffee shop won't think that you're crazy. Just saying.
