Overview

Magic Jeff is a handyman whose best trick is changing a six-pack to a full case. Tiger Jenkins is a sophomore at a new high school where football is God and homecoming queen is decided in a fistfight. But when Tiger and Magic Jeff join forces to save Wonder Valley from being flooded by an evil billionaire, they will unleash the forces of Practical Magic!

Magic Jeff Saves Wonder Valley employs magical realism to tell the coming of age story of Tiger Jenkins, a sensitive fourteen year old who has been transplanted from his comfortable suburban upbringing to share a rundown trailer with him mom who has substance abuse issues. Magic Jeff is the easy-going neighbor who is likely to use the money he earns to take out the same clients who just hired him. Jeff becomes a quasi-parent to young Tiger who is struggling to fit in and understand why life has left him here.

Based on the author's experiences in the Joshua Tree, California area- Magic Jeff Saves Wonder Valley is the first in a series called The Handbook for Faith-Based Home Repair.

Look for the next title Magic Jeff and the Mystery of the Silver Spheres.

Inspired by such counter-culture classics as "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and "Demian" Magic Jeff Saves Wonder Valley has the ironic wordplay and child-based point of view employed by Roald Dahl.
