Chapter OneI met a Moon Goddess on my way to the fair.
"Help make my magic potion," she said, "if you dare."
I found her berries, blossoms, and seeds.
"Now mixing," she said, "is all the potion needs."
But I stirred too fast! Splash! My face was all wet! I had to get away. She looked so upset!
In and out of bushes I leapt. Just like a hare I crept.
Wait! I was a hare now! The magic changed me somehow!
But she changed too, and became a greyhound. Where to go? A stream! I dove in without a sound.
I was a salmon now! The magic changed me somehow!
But she chased me as an otter. I jumped into the sky to escape her.
I was a blackbird now! The magic changed me somehow!
But she chased me as a bird of prey. Down to the ground I fell. I'd hide come what may.
I was a piece of grain now! The magic changed me somehow!
But, peck! She found me! How could this be?
