Nightime Parenting can help the whole family-mother, father, baby and child-sleep better.Besides it helps parents understand how and why babies sleep differently than adults, the book bolsters parents' confidence in their ability to find solutions that work. Dr. Sears even describes how certain styles of nighttime parenting can aid in child spacing and lowering the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

I used this book after the birth of my second child. It helped me to understand natural sleep cycles and reaffirmed my belief in co-sleeping and breastfeeding. I was under a lot of peer pressure to put my children in a crib and it never felt right. This supported my belief system. Despite our co-sleeping during the first couple years of their lives, our children are happy, well-adjusted, and sleeping in their own beds now.

This book only tells you it is okay to let the child sleep with you. Of course any child would sleep through the night. But how do you get the child in their own bed or sleeping on their own with out crying. I recomend reading No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley. It offers alternative and helpful suggestions. Not just an entire book to say its okay to let the child sleep in your bed.

My son has been sleeping with my husband and I since he was born and has been the easiest baby. People stop us and ask us if he is always so happy and smiling. Sharing the bed with my baby just seemed natural and the easiest way for both of us to sleep. Recently I had been questioning my decision because some people have told me that I need to start having my son sleep in his crib. This book reaffirms the way that I have been parenting my child.

Dr Sears is wonderful. Thanks to his advice, we have a happy baby who seldom cries. Dr. Sears and Martha Sears are definitely helping parents raise a generation, that will help make the world a better place.

I like Dr Sears philosophy that babies need nighttime loving care. But after 18 months of this I need my sleep. This book led me to another that was also helpful called The No Cry Sleep Solution. Between the two I think we'll finally get some sleep.

Dr. Sears is a genius! I read this book just before giving birth to my son and it's been a life saver. In this book, Sears teaches the best methods for having a happy, well- rested family.

I loved the original edition, and this new revised edition has wonderful information on issues with sleeping, helping baby & child to sleep, SIDS, etc. Very common sense, encourages parents to trust their instincts instead of following illogical advice as many books do.
